Worried

Post by 502hunter »

I just bought my first pair of beagles and the guy I bought them off of had just bought them right before the season started. Point is that he told me that these dogs aren't littler mates and that he didn't even think that they are kin. However they are marked 95% identical. Well the female came into heat while I was out of town working and according to my son "their butts was stuck together" on Wednesday  (how embarrassing). I am afraid that these dogs are indeed litter mates and that she may be pregnant. Does anyone know how bad this may be as far as them being kin or will it be ok?

I recommend letting God take care of it for you. it will turn out alright if you turn it over to him.

had this happen once myself, the pups turned out fine except for one which had severe birth defects,Let her have them while inbreeding(this close) is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. U.D.S.(uncle dad syndrome) may cause you tol end up with some genius's and some idiots and could get normal out of the same litter.and they may not even be littermates ,I have owned dogs that I know were littermates that didn't look like neighbors much less brothers. And this should tell the PETA people that while dogs have urges, morals aren't a problem for them,Denny

I am currently going through the same situation here. My female had 6 pups and she killed 4 out of the litter within the first day. The other 2 pups are doing great. I seem to think mom knows best on this one, and maybe she took care of the defected pups on her own. I own a big hound that is inbred, and she is one of the best cat dogs I've owned over the years, so I wouldn't worry to much. Good luck
