Question on Blueticks! Help me out please??

Whats the difference in running/hunting does Blue Barry, Turbo by Prop, and Blue Ninja have, just trying to get to know these lines. Would love to see some run sometime. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

In my opinion the all run the same style. Hard hunt, big nose, drive, and good foot.

I have been keeping dogs with Ninja blood in them since I got a pup out of Ninja x Greenbriar Charity from Vic Costanza in 1992.I bred her several times and got good pups.I bred one of those females [a Ninja granddaughter ] to a Ninja son that was the same cross as Blue Barry and got some very nice dogs .In the last several years I've acquired two females that have made very nice dogs; one is out of Greenwell's Reggie and the other one is out of Turbo Charged Thunder Blue.Reggie and Thunder are littermates that are sired by Turbo Powered By Prop and out of a strongly linebred Blue Ninja grand daughter..This past spring I raised a litter out of the female from Thunder who's bottom side has Ninja's littermate sister [Branko's Conna] in it and a male that has both Ninja and Conna behind him. There were 8 pups and all of them at 9 months old are running well and having rabbits killed in front of them.
The reason I've liked the hounds bred this way is the consistancy in all of the ones I've seen. They start very easily, are intelligent enough to break from off game very easily and at a fairly young age are able to take on the responsibilities and run with the "big dogs"and contribute. They have a lot of bottom as they will hunt and hunt and I've not seen one quit, even when hunted 5 days straight when taken on a "rabbit hunting week's vacation".
One of the things I really like abourt them is they seem to be very correct with their mouth.I've not had one to be loose mouth, popping off or cold trailing. If they are barking the rabbit is up and running, they shut up immediately in the check area and don't open until they've claimed and are moving out with it.I have had several that some might consider a little too tight mouth but my preferance tends to lean that way a little bit so.....I just can't STAND a loose mouth dog!
For a line of dogs that have enough foot to roll with most of the footy dogs they seem to be able to keep track of the line pretty well and will work the check area thoroughly before reaching out.Remember that the hounds in the background of Ninja,Blue Barry and Turbo are all basically bred from strong hare hunting and Large Pack on hare trialing families and will operate [generally speaking] in that style.
Vic Costanza told me years back that one of the things that set Ninja apart and allowed him to become a top competition hound and an International Field Champion was that he possessed extreme concentration when running a rabbit.Didn't seem to make any differance if he was running alone or with 50 other big males he could just lock -on.
I'd agree with Wildhare2 as far as hard hunt, drive and good foot.I'd say that the ones I've kept have medium noses as I really haven't seen one of mine with what I'd call a "big" nose.Although I've sold two males with this type of breeding in the past year to friends of mine in New Hampshire that are following them on snowshoes and several feet of snow and running hare with them so they've got enough nose for that.

I have a female up close to BlueBarry and Blue ninja. I bred her to my SockIt ToMe male thats up close and all the pups turned out as good or better than their parents. They have a big nose, fast on the track and brains to handle the front. My old dogs are filling the pressure from their siblings. Man, they sure can make a rabbit shake that tail. I am pleased with the out come of this cross and going to do this again this spring. The Only hold back from this cross is Big Dogs. Pups turned out tobe 15 " and some was over 15".

I have a 17 mo. old male that is a grandson of turbo by prop on the top side, and a grandson of blue barry on the bottom. Has great hunt, good foot (med. fast to fast), and a mouth used right. Very pleased with this male......... thanks Buddy Jude.

Don't know of the difference in running styles of the dogs u asked about, but i sure am impressed with the blood i have out of a couple of them:nod:

keep on runnin'
