Has anyone had good results when they doubled Shaker? I'm wanting to know any information you have about what this is throwing.

Steve

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
Steve,
I'm looking at three ways to take her next litter. I'm either going to breed her to IFC Doylands Jimmy, FC Pinnacle Hill Sport, or back to a male that i hope Vicky Bassit has... he is Reggie/Hurryup Lady.
I'm trying to see if anybody has breed Haunted Hill Shaker top and Bottom. I'm thinking that if i take her to Jimmy i should get a ton of foot, big nose, and if i take back to Sport i should get a solid med speed line control machines.
The Reggie/Hurryup lady male is something i have no ideal about. I haven't talked to Vicky yet about him. I have always wanted something out of lady, and if vicky has a male you can take it to the bank that he is tough.
Do you have anything to suggest? I'm all ears to anyone! i'm pretty much down to one dog, and i'm going to start rebuilding off Smokeys litter.

Bad news Steve he got hit by a car, never had a dog hit before I am really careful. Freak accident. We bred him a few times and had outstanding results. He was definately a once in a lifetime dog for me. Don't think I can ever replace him.

Yes we have a full litter mate brother to him. We got back a short time ago. Dark bluetick. 14 1/2. We also have a male out of Rock(Reggie x Lady) and Beannie (lumbers easy rider x Whiteoak Queen). Beannie is a GrHbCh placed 6th at world hunt and also wom the nhba runoff. These pups are really coming on.
Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
The FC Branko's Free Jack dog of Waggs/Floyd(ohio) is a real deal on hare or Cottontail as he won the MWGDA run off last year in a bragging fashion I heard. On the other end he is bad a-- locked in and smoking in LPH.I was in attendance at Black River at the 90 dgree heat stroke trial he won when he hooked up and stroked like an absolute beast dead online to boot!HE ALSO WON A CLASS OF 67 IN WISCONSIN. FJ should IFC.Shaker was tall little over from what I hear,so use caution.Know of a few double shaker dogs that had extra mouth pretty bad.Not happy here try FC Larsens Jackson Indiana or John L's Doc.Might be Smokes last litter so need to make her count.

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
A few direct Shaker males in MI are BJs Fudd, Jack Coe owns him . Also Scott Calkins owns a dog named Radar that has thrown some nice hounds. I have three off Radar here and I like them all.
Radar really does it right and I only ran with Fudd once at night in Dale Larsens pen so I can't really comment on him.
I can give you contact #s for both of these guys if you are interested.
Good luck, Dave

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
Steve Mickleson's TRAILS also good really best cottontail choice is JOHN L'S DOC OR JACKSON.Gas has come down alot. These 2 i believe would be the best choices knowing her and her pups.I only got rid of her because I run only 13's she throwed 15's.Smokey was a Cracker Jack dog in any ones eyes.Still not bad for a senior citizen.

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
I owned the littermate to your female unitl Rod took him. He was pushing 17" and never had any desire to run a rabbit. Rod tried for months to get him up and going. i don't think i could ever breed any female to Doc. All it takes is one bad apple.eddywilliams wrote:JOHNLS DOCK is a bad a$$ but be careful he has thrown some big dogs in his previous litters his sire is WOOKIE X LARSENS SADIE

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
I have a female out of Haunted Hill Shaker on top and Otterbrooke Maudie on bottom. I don't know much about the breeding. What would be a good cross?

Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
From what i have seen and heard Shaker crossed good with striker and ninja females but, those are the two crosses that eveyone is high on. I have heard to be carful with shaker crosses from several guys because of bad bites, mouthy dogs, and height (over 15). If you look at those problems they are the same ones that you see in most cases. Double Turbo's wil give you the same, and so will to much Jack (branko), etc... The thought of double shaker is something that i never looked at until this past week so, i have had a lot of guys PM me letting know the pro's and con's. i don't know much about your Otterbrooke female but i'm going back and looking at all of the Otterbrooke dogs i can find and checking it out.CedarCliffKennels wrote:I have a female out of Haunted Hill Shaker on top and Otterbrooke Maudie on bottom. Re: Haunted Hill Shaker
I'm not really big on Shaker myself. He was bred alot, what his producing %, probably low. He looked awful tall too.
Otterbrook hounds were larger in the early 90's, now alot seem smaller, less than 15". They came from up here and have a good background with Jim Beau being in their ped. They all seem to have that more open marked tri color to them. They have a good nose, hunt and some have the speed too. I found their feet were a little soft and the tails were docked on alot of them. Some have a fierce nature to them, but they have a ton of hunt and desire also.
