boomer - typing the truth as to what a person saw at a kennel is not slander. truth is truth. if they lied, then that is different, but if you post the truth or your personal opinion then that is not even close to slander. personally i could care less who posts what, all i was saying was its kinda sad when a person gets hammered for stating a truth as to what they saw. i have no personal experiences with the kennels in question but i would want to hear truthful experiences (good and bad) about them if i was thinking of getting a dog from them. id welcome anyone who has bought a dog or pup from me to share their story here. when i sell something i tell it like it is. to date ive not had one dog returned or any unsatisfied people. and also the board operator CANNOT be sued for anything posted here. go read the agreement you signed when you joined here.
DadGum (thats a southern appalachian word for the rest of you folks, LOL) all this slander/lawsuit talk......Nowadays when someone gets a little offended by something, someone starts slinging the word "lawsuit". Crap like that is one of the things wrong with the country....sue the gun makers, the cigarette makers, McDonalds for their coffee too hot, because someone said they didnt care for a beagle kennel......
My Goodness.......
Boomer, you a lawyer?

Blackdirt - Regardless of whether or not what someone saw/said was true, the moderator and webhost have no way of substantiating it, and they typically remove such things as a precaution.
Yes, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in 2003 that a moderator cannot be held for defamation. But that doesn't mean it won't be reversed, and the hassle of dealing with a groundless lawsuit certainly isn't appealing, either.
Believe me, you're preaching to the choir. Those kinds of bastards should be called-out.
DarrinG - No, I'm certainly not a lawyer, and I'll sue you for slander if you call me one :)

the board operators have no way of substantiating anything anyone types here. thats why you sign a waiver when you first join this and other sites. if i sell you a gun as 100% new in box shape and it has a big gouge in the stock, you cant sue bev cause she let me post here. im not gonna argue here anymore, but if a guy posts the truth, then i dont see a problem with it, so long as he words his story so that a child can read it (no vulgar language). thats what these boards are for - information - all of it aint gonna be nice, but sometimes you need to know bad things too.
