I would have liked to have seen some of the old school northway and also the gay because when I seen the Gay breeding run when I was a child it is not what alot of the gay breeding is now. They were fast and very agile ... now you see alot of gay bred gun brace dogs.
Just to poke around on some of the old stuff would be a great thing... but ... alas it does not work out that way.
PS......... Anyone who was at Crabby's cookout ..... I am not talking about gay bred or gay sex in the same way he was

I know its not listed but I like the Ranger Dan stuff, also like dogs going back to Round pond Mr.T, alot of desire and hunt. And I'd be looking to get pups out of Green Bay Kennels or Hunt-em- up Kennels in NY. The later deals with hounds out of Speedy sport. Both those guys know what there doing. Also depends on what you like and under what conditions you run in. That Speedy sport stuff has alot of nose and I've seen them run under some tough conditions. What I've seen out of Ranger Dan stuff is alot of control and level headed hounds. Sorry if I got of the original post . This is just my opinion of dogs I've seen first hand....Dh
None of the above. Some of your choices are dogs (that are no longer alive), not bloodlines.
If I had to start over, first of all I would be feeling pretty sorry for myself as it took me a long time to get what I have. When I got over that I would take a month off from work and get in my truck and go hunt with as many "bloodlines" as I could and try to find something as close to what I had as I could.
My first stop would be at Terry Daniels house in Iowa. Terry has been breeding and hunting the same hounds for a long time and I have used his dogs for an outcross before. His beagles are not perfect, but pretty close to what I am looking for in a hound. I have also learned a thing or two about hounds from Terry.
When I left his place I would start looking for other breeders like him. To me the most important name on the pedigree is the breeder. I look for ones that have bred the same type of beagle for more than a couple generations.

I am by no means an expert on Branko dogs. Most of everything I have is at least 3/4 Branko in the back ground. But, "Branko" is such such a huge bloodline that it is almost not specific enough to say "I have Branko blood."
Branko has produced small dogs, large dogs, fast dogs, med dogs, cold nose, tight mouth, open marked, blue tick, long legged and racey looking, short and stocky built, etc., etc.
That is one reason they have probably been successfull all over and to so many people. But if someone has a dog out of Branko's Warlock and another person has a dog out of Branko's Lumberjack. And they both rightly claim to have Branko dogs, but those two dogs could be night and day different.

i have to put in the PATCH option ..i love the easy handleing and hard hunting and either no trashing or easy broke gotta love it!
PATCH all the way. My lemon beagle was the only dog I ever owned that REFUSED to run anything except rabbit. This was 25 years ago and I have never had a natural born "Trash Proof" dog since. That is the number 1 trait I look for. Here in NYS, deer are everywhere. Didn't need no TT for that one!

I have three dogs that I have raised from pups (all atleast two years old) and none of them are patch and none have ever run anything but a rabbit. You just have to keep them in enough rabbits.

so rabbit gunner w e were adding to the post by chooseing a bloodline we like .. u didnt pick anything .. so bring ur choice..i own 2 patch dogs that have never trashed .but that wasnt the discusion .. i chose my brand and then put why.. u just want to match my brands traits lol.!
I recently had the chance to start all over again with young females.....here is what I ended up with and I am happy. I really didn't focus on anything other than dogs that I have either watched run or crosses where I felt the stud complimented the female.

I guess I really didn't go after any certain bloodline but moreso focused on what I like from various dogs out there - either offspring or direct parents. I also looked at what might compliment my only male that I have left if I would choose to breed to him later.
