Thanks Xdawg,
I'm not really expecting any of them to be blue. I am excited because I don't know what to expect! The history of my females mom is unknown. Her owner won her at a fundraiser several years ago when he purchased a $25.00 raffle ticket. She was just a 3 month old pup at the time. He brought her home and put her in one of his pens, and was planning on giving her away. A couple of days later when he was feeding up, he heard a strange dog running in his starting pen. She had chewed her way out of her pen, which was right next to the starting pen, and was running rabbits ever since. Needless to say that at that point she was no longer looking for a home!
I do know that my bitch's sire is lemon and white, and he comes from a long line of red/red & white beagles. The sire to the litter that I am expecting is red & white ticked. He is all Bramlett (Black and Tan) on his top side and Bluebawls - T-Rex - Reffett's on his bottom. I have no idea what the pups might look like. When I raised Rottys, color was a given.

I guess there aren't a lot of blue beagles out there. All three of mine have small red or tan ticks on the white parts of their legs. I was just wondering if the others have the same thing. I tried to spy out all of the photos, but wasn't able to see on some of them. I did noticed that they were all either blue and white, or blue, tan, and white.
I'm kind of courious if there is a connection to the blue color and blueticks or redticks in the family background. I have heard the defect theory, and I know that is probably some truth to it. I know that the pitt bulls have been bred enough to where the blue is a popular color. There are some bloodlines that only produce blue. Not sure why the weimeriner has the color either. It probably wont be long before some flavor of the day breeder tries to produce blue beagles as a rare breed for an expensive price.
