Does anyone know if you can contact AKC and check to see if a litter has been registered by someone else? I guess you would need to know the sire and dam registration number. But if you knew the persons name and date of birth of the pups I was wondering if you could check and see if they registered a litter at that time.
got 2 litter mates in 2003 were 2 mths old sire was akc reg. dams litter was reg. never individual reg. both dogs had been sold . by the time i had tracked everyone down if i could and got all paper work done and late fees paid i would have had to financed them. now if they claim to be akc i leave with papers in hand.

I wasn't wanting to see about registering a dog by contacting AKC just to see if a person actually did register a litter. I've been told that old I just ain't got the papers back yet story until I'm tierd of hearing it. I just thought I might call and see if the guy even registered a litter in his name.
Ok thanks alot for all your replies you really cleared this big mess out for me I do have another question though, say if I want to breed my beagle male dog (unregistered) with a beagle female dog (akc registered) would I be able to sell the pups as akc registerd pups or not because one of the parents isnt akc registered? So if I can't does this mean I need to find a male beagle that has been akc registered to actually have akc registered pups with the akc registerd female? So if that was right then if I wanted to have akc registered pups then I would need a akc registered papa and an akc registered mama. Is all this correct and if I'm worng please correct me. I hope this made sense
I didn't think that AKC would but I thought I would ask since we were on the subject because I knew someone on this board would know for sure. I didn't mean to hy-jack your post just thought I would ask a question.
