I hope your not directing that comment to me, because i certainly don't recall addressing you in any way. Kjohn asked a question and I answered it. You certainly have your opinion and I'm glad you have it, but I'm pretty certain that you didn't see it all and therefore are not in the position to run a man's name through the mud. Now that's just my opinion.

Once upon a time, a man asked a girl " Will you marry me?" The girl said " NO." and the guy lived happily ever after and ran his dogs as much as he wanted to.

Yes I was there, but we have already established that on another thread haven't we. You don't have to mention names, everyone knows who the judges were.

Re: whats your idea of a dog
I am a member of Central Ky Beagle Club. I was there for the entire trial and saw 5 of the 7 casts run. I'm sure the judges missed plenty of good hound work and missed plenty of terrible hound work, but they looked at them long and hard and didn't appear to make any rush decisions. I'm sure that they would tell you what they saw if you asked. Which cast did you run in? What number were you? What color collar did you have? Did you ask the judges what they saw? If you didn't, I will try to find out an answer as to why your dog didn't make the cut. The judges may still have their score cards. You may not want to hear what they have to say, but atleast you can sleep better knowing that you got an answer.
We have tried to provide good, honest judges for all 4 classes. I'm sure that your dog got what the judges thought it deserved. There was no budy judging going on at this trial. Look at the rusults.
The 13" females were judged by 2 Kentucky judges......an Ohio dog won.(atleast 2nd win)(atleast 4 different judges)
The 15" females were judged by 2 Kentucky judges......an Ohio dog won.(3rd win made FC with this win)
The 15" males were judged by 1 Ohio Judge and 1 Kentucky judge........a Kentucky dog won (2nd win)(4 different judges)
The 13" males were judged by 2 Kentucky judges....a Kentucky dog won(7th win)(atleast 7 different judges)
NONE OF THE DOGS THAT WON ARE OWNED BY CENTRAL KENTUCKY CLUB MEMBERS.
It is a shame that you guys are trying to destroy a clubs reputation. This club and it's members are trying to do things the right way. Come sit on our meetings. We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month at the same clubhouse. I think you will find that we have nothing but good intentions. Good luck with your hounds.

Re: whats your idea of a dog
As I read this post and the other post concerning the trial I am truly disappointed that these 3-4 people felt like they were so slighted. I left the trial feeling good about the weekend. With the World, & Ohio River going on, I felt it was a great trial, all went well. Then I turn on the computer and wow! Out of 65 dogs you are the only people whom I have heard comments from. Of course we all hate to see our dogs picked up and some are more kennel blind than others. In fact I heard comment from some trialers that travel all over the MidWest that said it was one of the best atmospheres they had been around in some time.
As field trial secretary I can assure you great thought went into picking judges for this trial by our club members. I find it rather unusual that you guys bash this format and the club when the other 3 classes and 60+ other dogs never had a problem. Like Pete said please ask the judges what your dog was picked up for so that you know.
I ran many an AKC trial before I got my first win and several got picked up in the first pack. All formats take dedication, determination and hardwork. We have taken great pride to build a club with respect and dedicated members, if you feel you need to talk to someone about the trial call myself 859-326-6068 or Pete 859-509-1724. We both will talk to you as much as you like and listen to your concerns. We want you to be happy but you have to understand this format also as I know little about yours.
Yours in sport,
Jeff

jdmart,
Thanks for the wisdom, you stated some are more kennel blind than others, this may be true but on the other hand some people may be blind to their organization also. this is the last i have to say about the trial as i have calmed down considerably from where i was i still think my dog was wronged, you stated there were people that trial all over the midwest ,well so do i have been beaten many many times and always felt that was the correct call except for this one my dog gave me one hundred percent and i intended to do the same for him as to why i did not state my displeasure at the trial akc rules state as follows:
Page 37 Rule 7-n No Owwner or handler shall have any right to question or refuse to follow the Judges orders
this rule should be looked at or i am afraid you will be experiencing trialers remorse again in the future
yours in another sport besides akc
Jerry

Jerry,
If you ask the judge why your dog was picked up is not "questioning" the judge it is simply asking why he was disqualified. The rule you are reading would mean arguing with the judge when it says "questioning". I did not direct the kennel blind comment at you. Jerry you would feel the same as I do if you knew what went into picking fair and honest judges for this trial and then have these comments. Judges can't see everything know matter what format! You have had judges on here tell you that. I have missed things when I have judged and have seen things missed, but that is a part of the sport no matter what format. I have reviewed with the marshal, one judge, cast members, and non participating gallery members and they felt all went well. I do appreciate your participation and also reviewing the rules and truly trying to understand why he was picked up. In hind sight I wish you would have ask the judges. Call me if you want I'll talk to you about the rules anytime or answer any questions or just talk dogs.
Thanks,
Jeff
