I build race engines and run performance engine shop in Columbus Ohio. When I'm not taking care of my two little boys, I'm working with or running dogs, searching for that next great one. Since I got into competition dog trialing about 6 years ago, it seems its turned into a addiction, I just hope that it doesn't get the best of me, I just really enjoy any and all that I got from this sport. I've met and continue to meet a lot of great people, honestly, and their mostly out of my own state. If we all stop and think, were all pretty lucky to be a part of the outdoors, the love of dogs, and have a great sport that we can all relate to.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my family's as well.

Own a Drug Screening company (as in "Pee in the cup, please!") I've been in some aspect of the medical/psychiatric field except for college and the Army. I too learned to walk hanging onto a beagle, but we got out of it when the rabbits played out in the '70s here in VA. Just getting back into it now since I have a little more time and $ and a lot more land! I've always been into hunting and for about 5 years I hunted 5 days a week for 4 months of the year while living in a one room cabin (no electric or water) Monday -Friday and coming into town to take call for 48 hours straight on the weekends. Those were the days.....then I got a bird dog 3 years ago so I don't deer hunt much.

I help with my mom's big catering business, still live at home, and love to help any way that I can for my parents. I am thinking about going back to school and might go to Purdue to get into the Soil and Water and become an agent.

I am a vegitation managment supervisor for a local electric utility. A friend invited me rabbit hunting four years ago and I was hooked. The next year he gave me two of his older dogs and their kennel and now I'm really hooked! This year I am looking for a female from a good bloodline to start a pack. I'm looking for a 13" with briar eatin hunt and med. speed. It's getting harder to find large tracts of land around here to hunt until deer season goes out and the big fast dogs we now run make it hard. Any suggestions on who might have what im looking for around the Charlotte NC region would be appriciated.

Union carpenter,do mainly bridges. Can't ever remember not having some kind of dog.About 20 years ago had a old lab that died and my kids(bless their hearts) got me a beagle pup and I've had um ever since. There is nothing in the world that can take your mind off the worlds problems like listening to those little hounds giving tongue behind the bunny.Starting pups will help teach you patients or try them lol.

I own and operate a concrete and masonry contracting company (brick, block, concrete, stone, etc.)I have had hounds of my own for around 15 years, got started hunting on weekends with a neighbor of my parents when I was growing up, he had a pair of 13 inch hounds (mother and son) and for 7 consecutive seasons hunting three days a week on average those hounds had over 100 hare per year killed in front of them. I didnt know squat about good from bad hounds back then, but I can say that I use those two hounds as a measuring stick quite a bit when criticing my own hounds. Excellent thread. I am a retired electric lineman after 34 years, retired at 56 years old. Had beagles in a younger life, and got back into it 20 some years ago. Wife takes them to trials and I do my best to keep them in shape. Have Branko/Grannpy/Briarpatch bloodlines. Hunt in northern Vt and other places as well.

I'm a credit officer (number cruncher) for the largest privately-held bank in Kansas City and have worked in commercial real estate finance all my career. As a kid, I grew up next door to my grandpa in Mid-Missouri and he always had a pack of dogs dogs with a little basset mixed in the bloodline. They were a bit slower than LP dogs, but I don't seem to remember "checks" back then. That's back when it seemed like rabbits were plentiful everywhere (80's). I slowed down on the rabbit hunting around my college years as my grandpa passed away and the bloodline diminished, but it seemed like there weren't near as many rabbits in the 90's. I got two pups three years ago and have been pretty gung-ho with it since. Feels good to be back hunting rabbits, and I discovered the field trials.

Retired firefighter- started as an electricians helper for 7 years then went to firefighting for about 29 years. Retired 2 years ago as an engine driver. Its a young mans job and I decided to let a young man do it. Hunted and fished all my life but never had a schedule that allowed me to have dogs. I just kicked brush piles and then shot right behind the rabbit (not by plan-it just worked out that way) When I retired I got a beagle, now I have 4. I don't trial so I don't care if they have a few faults because I have more than a few and they don't look down thier noses at me. God Bless....Danny

I'm a probation officer, and didn't start running hounds until I married into a family that had a beagle. I was hooked from the start and have been in debt because of my addiction ever since. Before beagling, my obsession was whitetail deer and never expected anything could replace it, but I was wrong. Now I can't wait for deer season to end.
