Nephew's 1st rabbit

Post by town hound »

Thought I'd share a couple picture's of my nephew Isaac, my Dad, and me from a hunt over Christmas. It was his 2nd time shooting a gun with the 1st time being only an hour before at an old tree stump just for practice. I don't know who was more excited, Isaac, my Dad, or me. There was high fives all around and a bunch of cheesy grins. It wasn't an easy shot either, that rabbit was moving to stay ahead of the dogs, Rocket, Huckleberry, and Dolly. Needless to say I was very proud of him and hope to get him over here more often for more hunts as he lives 4 hrs. away. Why is it Dogs never realize their getting their picture took.

Thats too cool, great story and pictures. Those dogs are hiding thier faces like they are afraid of getting recoginized. That young man will never forget his 1st rabbit, and his time with an uncle who cares.

Thanks for the comments guys, and I still remember my 1st rabbit with my Dad and Grandpa right there with me like it was yesterday. With my 2 girls to young to go on an actual hunt this sure was a treat for me. To see the excitment in a youngman's face as he enjoys the outdoors is priceless. Now I just need to talk my little sister into letting him have a hound of his own. As for the dogs we ran that day, the males are Blueback and Bigtime bred and the female is Rush Hollow Maverick/New city.
