The new color is much easier on the eyes . Thanks for changing it . I'm starting to figure out where everything is , there's not as much change as I thought . I'm thinking the print is much smaller than before , is that correct ??? I hope the others will soon get back in the swing of things it doesn't seem as busy as a normal Saturday .

do you see the "A" with the "carrots" above your name? click on that and it makes the font bigger and easier to read

Chris and Bev - Thanks for keeping my favorite beagle board up going. I appreciate it a lot. Met so many wonderful beaglers here and have hunted with many as a result of this site.
My kennel has became stronger due to the knowledgable members and contacts made here.
Last, some people would complain if you hung them with a new rope.

danny, did you ever find your pm's? they are in the the upper left corner. you'll see the picture of the dogs and rabbits and then underneath that is an ad and then you'll see board index and then under that it'll say user control panel and your messages will be right beside that. do you understand or did i just confuse you more?

Lance, from what I'm gathering, this board is only completely functional with Internet Explorer. Alternative browsers such as Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, etc. won't be 100% compatible. My banking site and other places are that way sometimes. I can't load certain features or logins/passwords with Opera. Opera is completely dysfunctional with Java when I try to make changes to the website, so it might be an incompatibility there.

The board looks good half-done, eh? Chris will finish it (complete the "green theme") in the next day or so. He's pooped from hunting.

Nope not working with firefox, and the colors are bad, too bad this good site went down hill, I'm sure I'll keep reading and get used to it but it's not user friendly especially on the eyes.

Wow. How differently some of us must have been taught. Perhaps it's because I'm of an older generation than most on this board, but here are a few old philosophies and practices that were hammered into my head as a child. Granted, I don't always follow them, either, but I try:

- I was taught that you visit the sick and bury the dead.
- - The best helping hand is at the end of your own arm.
- - - Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.
- - - - When you point a finger at someone, look at your hand -- there are three fingers pointing back at you.
- - - - - Anything worth having is worth working for yourself.
and the biggie,
- - - - - - If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

Anyone else feel we've grown to become a society of whiners who have the best technology and luxuries of any era at our fingertips, yet cry loudly at the slightest inconvenience? We are given so much that "gratitude" has been replaced with a sense of "entitlement." Sometimes it's hard to believe we are hunting dog people - as easily as it is from some to feel put out over small change, lol.

Anyway, the new colors will be completed soon. Personally, I was ready for a change in that area. I see "Microsoft Blue" just about everywhere I go on the computer, and this soft, muted green is a nice break. If the colors seem loud or hurtful to the eyes, then perhaps an adjustment to one's monitor is in order, because I pulled almost all the saturation out of the colors before I submitted them to Chris.

Your welcome Bev. You guys do a wonderful job on this site and I like the muted green. In fact, my Florida room is painted in that color.
Keep your head up. I think 90% of the memebers here are OK with the change. While in the service we had a saying for the other 10%...
The only thing I didn't like at first was the small font size because my eyes are getting older but once I found the little carrots by the font icon and changed the font size I got a big smile on my face.
Oh, I would be remiss if I forgot to thank Stoney B. for his work as well. Just an oversight Stoney.

I was starting to post a reply and got a Private Message so my reply automatically erased . I'm sure there's and easy fix for that too and every little bug may get worked out with time but if not we can still live with it .

Here's what I was getting ready to post .

The changes are now very little after a day or so you should quickly adapt to them . The color is now much better and much easier on the eyes . Thanks for changing it . I thought the change was much bigger/harder on the eyes until Jamie told me how to fix the Font Size of the whole board .

In the right top just above LOGOUT [jude/or your user name] there's a capitol "A" with arrows on each side . The arrows will change the SIZE of print on the whole board .

I changed to firefox browser a good while back. I like it and have a lot less trouble since switching from IE. It won't work on this board now, or at least I don't know how to make it work. Does anyone?

PS: Looks like the board has now become a "smilies smorgasbord". Yay, that way we can all reaallly have fun without having to type.... just point and click.... enjoy!

No; it isnt you , it wont run on my mozilla browers either. I had to go to internet exploer .

I think certain parts of the board should subscriber only accessed ( pay ) ; that would keep traffic down from people who dont usually contribute, and only post dogs for sale all the time

Is it possible for someone that had trouble logging in after the switch to send Harehunter (Earl Holbrook) some kind of instruction on what you did he is unable to access the board at all and I havent had any problem but am also not computer savvy enough to aid him! I am always resistant to change, it will just take time to get used to the new look. The new setup probably has better protection against being hacked or something along those lines......

bev's sticky said that this new site would better protect against porn and other spammers promoting their crap...

maybe your guys's eyesight will improve now...

As I originally said, I am always resisitant to change, but I am getting used to the new format and I am greatful for the new color and for the free use and availability of this board. This certainly is an awesome site with a wealth of information and just a little bit of whining.
