i have a Wildlife Materials trx 10 i was thinking about either buying the Mini 2 Antenna for it i dont like the big bulky 3-Element Folding Antenna i have my question is how much do you lose with the mini in tracking distance. i think with the mini you could carry in your pocket and not bother you the way it works out now i never have it on me when i need it its to big to carry with you i always have to go back to truck and get it.My secound thought is the tracker maxium i like the size but dont know how they compare to wild life thanks

There are a lot of used Trackers (Classic and Maximas) on the Squirrelhater.net forum for sale right now.
A lot guys going to the GPS units.
We use a tracker classic coon hunting.
We've had the dogs get out of range a few times where we had to ride from ridge to ridge searching for a signal.
We still always found the dogs and were glad to have the collars on the dogs.
The best part is you will not leave the reciever in the truck like all the guys I know with bigger units. I keep it on me, and have it ready in seconds to check their location.

I have a trx3 that I bought new about 10 years ago with a three element folding yagi, two years ago I sent it in for a battery replacement and had it fixed on a two element mini antenna the loss of distance was definitely noticable but I think it hinges more on terrain type and what size collar you run, I hunt heavy dense cover and run the ultralight sealed collars if you are hunting more open cover and a bigger collar your range may not be hampered. All in all I prefer the two element just for ease of carrying it around. Kurt Robinson
