Got pics of my 4 1/2 pup.... Hilljacking Bocephus.

Post by FastFeetHounds »

My young body is taken a beating... been walking a lot and kicking some briars, rabbits been sitting tight these past 4 days. Went to bed last night at 7:30pm, just woke up. Taking young bocephus out tomorrow, he's had a great hunt on the last day of the new year. He's only 4 1/2 months old. He ran a rabbit to me with an older hound and I shot. When I got to where the rabbit was, I heard a squeal from the rabbit and Bocephus was holding the rabbit in his mouth. I was very proud. Every time a gun was shot, you could see Bocephus running to where the shot took place. Really proud of this young dog. Taking him out tomorrow as well to hunt him a few hours. We have about an inch or so on the ground 22 degrees is the high with 14 mph winds. Wondering if there might be a couple rabbits out running. Will shoot over him if given the option.

Here are a couple pics of the tri-color bluetick named Hilljackin Bocephus.

Daddy I think I smell a rabbit.

For a 4 1/2 month old pup he isn't around my feet for to long, if I stop in an area bordem gets ahold of him and he wanders off. Can't wait for him to bump a rabbit out and watch him go wild.

Now you can't see him in that mess of logs and corn stalks but we walked by it and he got on top of them logs and went inside there to check it out....showed a lot of interest, maybe a rabbit was there earlier, but he never barked once. This hound might be a true honest mouthed dog.

Can't find a rabbit, but a water bottle will entertain him. I told him to No when he started to carry it off, he dropped it and went back searching. He's a smart dog that listens, he is stubborn but only in the right ways. Easy to handle. He listens even when there's more than 4 hounds in pack. I have been blessed with a great young hound.

Slipping through the brush, Daddy where is the rabbits???

Up top is my favorite picture. He likes posing for the camera, not to hard on the eyes either.[/img]

I here you on waking up, I just did and man is it cold. I am going in the morning to see if my Patch hounds can do it on snow like they do on regular ground. Good luck and stay warm.

Wed, January 2
Time 5am
Condition Mostly Cloudy 14°F
Feels like -4°F
Point Humid.55%
Wind From NW 20 mph

Looks like a good morning to head out, turned on the porch light and hounds are chewn at the gate to go, that, or they licked the wire and their tongue froze to it...
