I'm with Del Tc and Mike, it really works, i tried kennel them together and it works but usually takes longer than holding them back on a lead then cutting them loose, the excitement drives them crazy to get in there.
if they don't show any interest after trying that i would cut my losses and work with a better dog.

Del wrote:Hook him on a lead and let the pack run around him a couple of circles then cut him loose he should want to go to the pack. You my have to repeat a couple of times. It seems to work with young dogs.

THIS IS WHAT ALWAYS WORKED BEST FOR ME,KEEP HIM ON THE LEAD TILL HE ABSOLUTELY GOES APE S#@T TRYIN TO GET OFF THE LEAD THEN CUT HIM IN.

ANOTHER ONE IS I WOULD TAKE THE INDEPENDENT HOUND OUT OF THE BOX,LET HIM GET A RABBIT UP AND ROLLIN,LET HIM RUN IT FOR A LIL WHILE,THEN CUT ONE DOG IN WITH HIM,THEN ANOTHER ANDANOTHER AND SO ON,MAY TAKE YA A COUPLE TWO THREE WEEKS,BUT,IF HE IS A GOODEN,IT IS WORTH IT,I AINT SEEN ONE I CANT GET TO PACK YET BY USIN ONE OF THESE METHODS

If the dog is three years old, has been started for over a year, and he knows to hark to the running pack, he either doesn't have the desire or speed to stay with them.

Maybe he is not a "me too" dog and wants some of the action but can't get it with the speed of rest of the pack. Sound familiar?

Try the other way around. Let him run his own rabbit and turn the pack loose one at a time. It is likely he will continue to run his own rabbit when lioned by the other hounds. It worked for me. He became a heck of a dog. Certainlt worth the effort.

All replies are good. Another thing you might try is run him with a female either coming or going out of heat. I had a young male not packing and by mistake ran him with a female coming in. He ran with her that day and packed ever since.
