I used to be Purina feeder but I noticed that my dogs statred not to have the energy that they used to, switched to Diamond Premium(green bag) in the winter when I run them the most anf Maintenance in the summer. I noticed the results in just a couple of days after switching. I have tried others to, just about anything that Wal-Mart sales and Diamond to me is the best hands down. I'v heard good things about Black Gold to but have never tried it.

Well, after reading this I bought a bag of high maint. Ol Roy and mixed it with my Pedigree.
Now, I read it has cow crap. I'm checking my bag tonight to see. If it does, I won't be buying anymore.

Food for thought (pun intended)
If you ever watch the discovery channel and you watch the big cats take down big game, the first thing they eat is the innards because that is where all the best nourishment is. Muscle tissue is not as high in fat and protien as the innards are. The innards are labeled as by-products on the bags. Along with the organs that make up the innards is the poop in the intestines (in the wild), so what is the big deal? I personally wouldn't eat it intentionally... but if it is in the bag...
I haven't seen a dog yet that won't gobble down cat poop if given half a chance.
Just food for thought...

beagle desert.......
Yeah Emery, every dog I've ever seen loved cat poop.A vet told me its because their poop has alot of undigested fat in it and dogs love the taste that the fat adds to the dung.I also agree and wonder if the animal digest is the matter in the intestines that are also in the dog food.I can't understand why ol Roy is getting such a bad rap here when we're talking about dog food.............not what we eat. Also as far as I know most dog foods have the byproducts that we don't eat from the butcher that also didn't make it to be balogna and potted meat for we humans that each such stuff.....as well as the hotdogs.I have a friend that is a retired truck driver and he has been all over this country and Canada and he has hauled the stuff that goes into dog food.He said that all the stale bread, cheese crackers, potato chips, etc are ground up.......plastic package and all to be put into the dog food.I guess they consider the plastic to be fiber lol...This is just one thing I remember him telling me but I will talk to him and get more info on what went into it.Well I guess it is probably just the cheap dog food companies like the one that makes Ol Roy that would put such things in their product.I realize that these high powered dog foods like diamond and black gold etc.....only have prime meat for the protein source and whole grains for the carb source and fiber content and pure unadulterated prime Angus beef fat from Hardee's for that long term energy to keep them beagles running day in and day out 24/7 without ever tiring..........thank goodness for the high quality dog food Co.'s.

feed debate
I heard that cat food was bad for dogs. Something about blood in the stool. Anyone know if this is true?
As far as the Ol 'Roy cow poopie ingredients-- come on-- to me that makes no sense. Cow crap can be used for fertilizer so why put it in feed?
