Get the High Mountain Jerky Cure & Seasoning.
It is a dry cure & seasoning as opposed to a brine, very easy to use.
I use there summer sausage kits too :D

Are you making it out of strips of meat or burger? Are you using a dehydrater or smoker?
If your using strips of meat and a smoker, shoot me a pm and I'll give you a recipe everyone will talk about.

My buddy has been making jerky in his regular oven, man it is good! He went to Dick's or Gander Mountain and got the kit, it is a dry rub, then layer racks in oven and cook.

i use backwoods seasoning. mix it with ground deer and it is easy and great tasting. also use a dehidrater to cook it. this is a friend of mine company. they have every thing you need.
