dog

I got too many beagles one year, my wife decided she wanted an English Bulldog, that one cost me a good one, then she wanted another one so she could have some pups out of them. We had spent alot of money on 2 worthless dogs in my book but I had my reasons for going along with her buying those dogs. I wanted a couple more beagles and she had to go along with me getting them because I had spent so much on her dogs. I dont recomend going that route, I ended up with too many dogs at once. It was a learning experiance.

My wife feeds and hunts and since she is a nurse, I get her to do the shots and home doctoring on my hounds. When we were first married, I would soften her up a little before bringing a pup home by introducing her to the idea gradually. She got to where when I went to see Lynn Perkins she would say, "please don't bring any more dogs home!" I always made sure I brought home a very young pup because I know she can't resist. Chris, I respect your "talk it over" approach, as communication is necessary to a good marriage. Sometimes my "talk it over" has to be a little vague, though, and then I let the puppy do the work. When your wife loves hounds it makes it a little easier and I never have had so many hounds that anything else ever got sacrificed for feed, maintenance and upkeep.
