First aid product that all beaglers should have

Post by Big Dog »

I have recently had two dogs that had cut pads or a sore on their pad. I have tried everything to heal them with little success. Jim Jones from Sky top kennels in Vermont recommended a product called "pink Ointment" that is used on Alaskan Sled dog pads. I used this product for 1 week on both dogs and they were completely healed. I also used it on some crusty scabs that had gotten on one dogs ears. After 2 days these scabs fell off and the ear was smooth. I highly recommend that any houndsman/woman keep a tube of this stuff on hand. I don't have any attachment to the company, I just want to share a product that works. The product is called "Pink Ointment" and can be ordered from Aurora Animal Clinic in Fairbanks alaska. I payed a total of 20 dollars for one tube which is large this included shipping and handling. The phone number is 907 452 6055. Apply a little of this product to your finger tip and gently massage it into the affected area.

Thanks Big Dog, will give them a call. I keep a medical bag in the truck and I am always looking for items to add to it.

Big Dog,

I ordered a one pound jar of the Pink Ointment from Alaska. Man it works. A dog had raw pads last week and she ran for 3 hours yesterday. No limping at all. Great product. Hey, they also have Blue Ointment it has a cortizone in it. I'm guessing to remove scar tissue. Thanks for the info BD and thanks for that number Rick Burkholder. Oh yeah Rick, congratulations for being appointed the State Rep in PA for NKC/ARHA LP division.

actually the pink ointment was an idea from Art Beamer of Maple Lane Kennels in upper New York. that is where the pink ointment came from. i'm sure if you had any questions about it, Art would be the one to call.

Pink Ointment

I don't know where the Pink Ointment originated, but I can tell you in my book it is the best thing since slice bread. I have used it on several dogs in it does the job in a short period of time. I have to thank JIm Jones from Sky Top Beagles in VErmont for sharing this tip with me.
