Went out hunting over the weekend. Cool weather in the upper 40's. Dog's pounded the ground. We had some great running this weekend. Cover is still thick so my shooting was poor. I tried to get a kill on video as you will see. It's kind of hard holding a camera in one hand and a shot gun in the other. lol but I gave it a try. The dogs ended up losing that rabbit some 15-20 minutes later. It never came down that hill. I also got good footage of my up coming female. She is a young hound with lots of energy. We shot that rabbit and wounded it. Rabbit still ran pretty good. My female LEAH ended up catching it and she carried it out of the brush. I caught just the last seconds of her bringing it out to us. Check out that short video clip. I was pretty happy when she did that. Over all we had a great time. Thanks for looking.
retrieve video clip
Here I am trying to shoot the rabbit while video taping
Dogs working a check my male dog Pistol picked it up
Another Kill.......this one was a head shot. Rabbit came out of the brush and into the corn. Came about 5 feet away from me. I took my time and followed it with my barrel. Good clean head shot.

Thanks Joey , I'm getting a verrrry good report on his littermate brother in NY ... I was wondering today if I had ever sold a young hound , that I hadn't regretted after it was gone . I've been very fortunate to have been taught how to properly choose my hounds and to have dealt with some woderful people and have FRIENDS with fine hounds , who've been willing to help me .
He's a good looking dog. I believe the one you sold DONE GONE BEAGLES looks just like that.
I've sold one that I regreted once. It is a terrible feeling, sometimes the good ones get away. Just as long as it gets a good home and ran regularly it's all good. What are you going to do.
Here is the one I wish I still had. She is the littermate to the dog in the above clip retrieving the rabbit. Both of them together were something. I had to sell one because I have no room. So I sold this one. I wish I had both. She was almost 6 months in this pic

That's a nice pup Joey . I don't want to sound like I'm bragging but I've sold some really nice ones and plan to continue to do the same in the future .
