Yotes

Post by DarkCornerKennel »

I've been running a new area lately and I'm hearing yotes every morning. Yesterday one of my pups started baying like she was scared or lost. I've been carrying my camera and I recorded the dogs running on one side of the cutover and you can her the yotes howling on the other side. Is anybody seeing increased yote activity this week or have I found a yote honeyhole?

Behind my house is yote country and I run all the time. I have yet to have any problems but I always anounce my presence when running. If I get an eary feeling I just pop off my Glock a few times. When running it is best to let them yotes know your there with your hounds. I usually talk to the dogs in a loud voice to scare off any trash or yotes when I first enter the woods. Seems to have worked so far but I know sooner or later I will have to dust one.
