i have only been to two p.p. hunts in the state of ga. and found that the judging was stright up and as fair as i have seen. i have great respect for the judges and know that most of them do their best to be fair and to judge the dog without respect to who the handler is. and like jogletree i'am going to try and take the test the next chance i get..

i attended that trail and i believe that the winner won both its first cast as well as the second, even after the split for those that were there it was the last 5 minutes of the run that the pack was left behind,i think due to exhustion, and that blaze dogs just ran away with the rabbit and scored the points necessary to pull out the win.it seems that the 7 month old pup in the final cast was a none issue of the scoring,it was very tired, which would be normal i would say,i did not witness its cast win but i am sure that with what was posted its first run was only 1/2 hour long since it took 1/2 hour for a rabbit to be produced.in the second cast it tired quickly which if it wants to compete in progressive pack it has to get more time in the feild to prevent the burnout.
i am not nocking this dog,it may be the next great one but i have to be realistic and say a fifth place in a final cast was a great day for it.
also was its first cast a 5 dog pack?i remember there were 3 -6dog casts and 3-5dogs casts,a dog drawn into a 5 dogs cast has an advantage to begin with.
for a 7month old male,i wish a saw its first cast,it did good

Yeah, the first cast was a five dog cast for the 7 month old. Mad, I don't think I had the pleasure of meeting you. If I did, I don't remember. Maybe we will get to meet next go round.

Ok, I didn't actually meet Daniel either, but nice to meet you. On the final cast, I stayed back talking to some older gentlemen instead of up there w/ the rest of the handlers and hte dogs. Thats why it took me so long to get up there once he said to handle the dogs when they all gave out.

Mad,
i will have to agree with ya that final cast had some serious power in it!! them dogs could pound a rabbit and they done it fast and right!! That was some sweet music and the scores showed just how close it really was. Nobody in the whole cast was really out of it. I would say i would be proud to own any hound in that cast for sure!! Jogletree i didn't get to meet ya i saw ya but didn't get to talk to ya hope we meet up again and get to talk hounds some u seem like a nice guy. Yall take care
