if they would lower the price to 200,as most pups here sell for,then ya still have 500 in one,but it is a lil easier to swallow.

as for proof of unproven crasses,go to brankos puppy page on their sight,there is your proof,they are selling pups out of first time crosses 24-7 ,7 days a week,with all the pups branko has kicked out in the last few years,have any of them accomplished anything?won any big hunts?no,that is unproven crosses,400 plus shipping is rediculous.

these are proven crosses,if branko would make a cross and it produces two or three fc's,then it is a proven cross,they are paper breeding,kickin out pups with pretty lil pedigree's and callin them proven crosses,i have noticed one thing about them,they take a brood female beed it to every stud dog they have and hope for the best,sellin them for 400 bucks and still have not kicked out a powerhouse in ten years,as much breeding as they do,and as good as they claim their current stock is,they should be dominating akc,ukc,ckc,and nkc,but are they???????

no,they haven't,but like greensprings said,too much hot air is being wasted on this topic,you have your die hard branko fans that will die before they admit they overpaid for thier dogs and who cares,as long as your happy,that is all that matters,but why say something is a prven cross or defend a puppy mill when you know that is what it is,a puppy mill,the thing that kills me is,the pups that don't sell,they throw them all together in a huge runnin pin,100 to 150 dogs a a time,and sell them for 1200 as runnin dogs

Till then maybe we should just try to learn something from the Krpans and the handfull of people like them.

I don't care who pays for what.......shipping, handling, crating, processing, whatever...........it still equals over $700.00 to get one. You must have flunked math........
I could go on and talk my $200.00 hound up...but there's already enough hot-air being contributed to this thread..!!

So if a fellow from Canada bought a pup from a kennel stateside for $300.00 and the seller paid shipping and crate fees he'd actually make about $20.00. Maybe that's all you think your hounds are worth. I think you may need to go back to arithmetic 101.

I agree with TomMN 100%! I have now proudly purchased (4) pups from Branko and Frieda. I for one am sincerely grateful for what they, and the likes of Mr. Terry McBride, have done for the beagle breed. Thank You!

Show me all these crosses that are being made. I see Branko preficing over 95% of the sire and dams.

Is the cross you are referring? It is a stretch to call that a cross, especially without seeing the pedigrees for all the dogs involved. Bet they have Branko in them. If not, then I think the Krpans know what they are doing and I, like many of the other owners of their dogs, trust in their breeding program and record.

I also see their dogs winning in many of the trial formats, if that is any true measure as to whether they are responsible breeders or a puppy mill. How many AKC field champions or international field champions have come out your kennel or the Greensprings? Just curious.

Pretty easy to sit behing a keyboard and slam one of the biggest names in beagling history. I personally think it is foolish even if you do feel the way you do or had a bad experience with Frieda over a dog that you didn't buy.

I am not defending the price I paid and I have paid $300.00 for puppies stateside. I paid $350.00 for my male and $400.00 for my female plus shipping, etc. That was the easiest part. The money comes in taking care of these dogs for the next 10 to 15 years.

I could sit and slam your $1,500.00 Bulldog puppy prices but I won't.

Anyways, no hard feelings just posting my thoughts on the matter.

well i have been trialing a lil over a year and a half,have made two lp r ch,and have dogs out of bandit placing in trials at 18 months old.

what i would like to know is what dogs of branko's is winning in multiple formats as you say,who?mystery man in ukc,ombre did his thing and warlock won some,that is three dogs in the last 10 years out of what many reffer to as the greatest breeder in beagles.

they have influanced beagling in the past and have made their statement,but as of right now,bothing is winning out of their kennel,not enough for me to invest 700 bucks a pup.

go hit a few trials ed,have you even trialed your dogs yet?you are stating how great branko is,but yu don't trial,i know you are more of a hunter,but when you go talkin proven crosses on here,that means in the field trial world.i can take any halfa$$ dog and kill a bunnie over it.

how many fc's has ombre,warlock and mystery man produced?i have not heard of any.

as for my 1500 dollar bulldog puppy price,that is cheap,go to petland,or petco,2500 to 4000

whelping a litter of bulldog pups is a total different ballgame,a lot of sleepless nights,for me and my wife,we earn that 1500 a pup,trust me.

I can't believe the nerve of you guys on here complaining about the price of pups from a breeder, the price of the pups is between the breeder and the buyer. The price is agreed upon prior to sell obviously.

What really disturbs me is then you go on to bash a line of hounds that obviously has been pullin thier own weight for some time cause most of you have their blood in your dogs. Then you turn around in the same breath and say to your fellow beaglers why not buy a dog from in the states that has branko blood for $200. HELLO that is cut throat selling. I have seen this so many times on this board no wonder you can't sell your pups for more then $100. cause your good ol buddy will cut throat ya if he has a litter of pups and tell so and so well you can get pretty much the same blood as that I have one for $50. Then there is the idiots on here that say I will never pay over $50 for a pup... Then turn around and turn their female pup they just got into a brood bitch and complain cause everyone is sellin pups...

I was going to start trialing again until I read all your posts about buddy judging and getting cheated.

Seriously, I am considering AKC Midwest for my Branko bitch and Little Pack ARHA for my Branko/Blueback cross. At nine months old he is impressive.

btw, I have several trophies from trialing back in 1992 but alls they are doing is collecting dust. I am a fun runner first, hunter second and possibly I will trail again but when I am ready. Basically, I just enjoy beagling and try my best to be respectful, honest, and enjoy the sport while bettering the breed. My hat goes off to all those who came before me and did their part in bettering the breed as well.
