Striker X Shaker resulted in quite a few FTCs in canada. Striker X Branko blood has been succesful also. Striker bred dogs seem to have good noses and know where the check area is, when bred to something with some wheels they can be dominating. As far as line breeding them goes, Branko has had plenty of success breeding his own blood. Adam Seger is holding a lot of Striker blood in his neck of the woods so he could probably provide some insight on how linebreeding is going in that line. So far I like the Striker blood that I have owned and seen.

We have a few dogs doubled up on IFC MJR Mitsou Argenteuil Striker, IFC Branko's Dirty Pond Laika (Laika is double FC Branko's Jack Of All Trades), and also IFC Branko's Ali-baba. The male I have Cyrus is doing exceptionally well for a young dog.

Up north where both daddies were from the most successful crosses were striker males to shaker bitches and that is the way the males produced. Striker produced outstanding males and shaker the bitches no brainer for us dummies. good luck. L&S monk

Monk, what is your opinion on using some Dingus breeding in the mix? I saw that Laneline Beagles has a linebred Dingus/Yellow Creek male for stud. I know Branko bred to him (Dingus) when he was getting started and liked it.

Also I am curious about Murray's Little Blazer after reading Pott's stud ad on him.

PS: After looking at Striker's ped I see he has one cross of Dingus, maybe more.

I just brought home 2 pups from a Striker bitch yesterday. I have heard 2 different stories about how Striker ran. One guy said he was not too good, another guy said he was one of the best. Any of you actually see the dog run?

line breed

Post by Lone Pine Beagles »

Good question:

Above all...line breed the best to the best.

Striker is linebred IFC Cold Cash with a shot of Branko's Close call Girl (Dingus x Anna's Ann) through Jiggs.

Shaker's mother is linebred Branko with several crosses of the (Dingus x Ann) hounds.

I guess if i was to start over and wanted hard hitting dogs i would go with Branko breeding merely because they've produced well in the past. I could travel around and breed to the ones that ran the way i liked.
