accidents do happen for this you must not blame your self.it can happen in the field whether it be a coyote or car.that's a part of life I am a grown man and try to be tough and usually am but had to have 2 put to sleep,1 killed by a car,a good number just old.those that were old and died in their sleep were easier to cope with, but those that lilled by a car or had to be put to sleep due a sickeness always was hard.i really had to hang on not to break down in public Once along i was able to let it go grief released. It's always the kids you see when you bury your feelings for them to act like it's ok until you can get alone, and it's ok to be human.

Robyn,

Very sorry to hear of your loss.

I can remember losing a family dog on x-mas morning while opening gifts. Kinda takes the fun out of it all.

You'll always have memories and your other 2 hounds at your side.

Chin up and put a strong chain on Ty for me,

andy

Robyn, you can't beat yourself up over that !!
From your post I gather you don't hunt your dogs but with beagles, every time you cut them loose, or as it may be, let them out, it could be the last time you ever see them.

Just remember the fun times !
