Wished I lived in the country!! Will sooner or later, but probably later first. Some of you COUNTRY boys need to let some of us CITY boys run some of your land! It is real hard to find some private land to just run on, let alone hunt on.

Country.... Only have to deal with the doggie police every 3 or 4 years.

I lived in a suburb of Detroit all my life with neighbors on both sides. If I wanted to run my dogs, I'd have to load them up and drive about 40 minutes to my closest running spot. About 5 years ago, I met a Lady in the Great Outdoors chat room on AOL. I had lost my job of 15 years, was alone, and felt like the world just sucked! After a few months of chatting with her every morning over coffee, I came down to Ohio to finally meet her. I was 39, had never been married, and never really thought I ever would take the plunge! The minute I laid eyes on her, I just knew! I came back the following weekend, and then, the weekend after that, I came to her home for dinner. Fortyfour acres boys, in the country! Oh, and about 500 acres behind that when the crops are up I have permission to run. Did I mention prime rabbitat? The next weekend I brought down some dogs, and she fell in love with them, with me, me with her, and with running dogs to! She now has well worn Carharts, Muck boots, a slightly worn husband, and her own dogs! I just love my life and my Wife now! Now you single fella's, trust me, I love this site, but take it from me, browse a little, stay off the porn sites, all you'll get is carpal tunnel and bad eyesite! (My Dad used to tell me if I did that I'd go blind! I said, "Dad, I'm over here!") Go to a chat room that interests you the most, in my case, that was the great outdoors site. Be yourself, and see what happens! It sure as heck worked for me! Well, there's a slight sprinkle coming down here, it's about 62 degrees, and my dogs are letting me know it's time to go. I think I'll walk down, open the kennels up, and let em' fly! Have a good day boys, I know I will! Ahhhhh life is good! :)

Leah, if you didn't live in Utah I'd think we were neighbors. LOL.
You are in same boat as me. I'm on one acre that used to be in the country but the town is building up around me. I'm looking for 10-20 acres way out, but I probably wouldn't be able to move there until the kids finish school(long time off).

Moved to the country last year. I own a modest 3 acres. I wouldn't trade my 3 acres and house and barn for 5 places in town like we sold last year. I love the country!

Its happening everywhere!!! I have lived here for 20+ years. Just a sweet little country town and now its being filled up with city dwellers who like to complain about the dairy smell or the pigs. We even got some crazy beeotch who is complaining her little darlins have no sidewalk to walk on for school. Hell! we didn't have them either for about 100 years out here. We all managed to get to school just fine! Each morning since about a month ago I wake up to the sound of framers hammers less than a 1/4 mile from me. A subdivision with 1/2 acre lots. UGH! There really isn't anywhere here to go either.

I live on 72 acres out in the middle of nowhere.I lease 550 acres around me that has 2yr old planted pines that i'm waiting on to grow so i will have plenty of bunnies to chase.Right across the street from me is 4,600 acre Wildlife Mgmt area that has alot of real nice places to run on during small game season.I have a 2 acre starting pen for pups and right down the road i have a 30 acre running pen my father and i built to run the hounds year round.I currenty have 11 grown dogs and 10 pups 7 weeks old at this time.I work in the city and live in the country and it sure is hard to leave the country to come to the city every day. There's nothing like the beauty god has given us to enjoy!! Whether you live in the city or in the country when you turn the hounds loose that beautiful sound is our own lil piece of heaven.

Leah, I was one of those "city dwellers" as I stated in my earlier post, but dangit, I just LOVE the smell of pigs and dairy farms now! :D Why I just wake up, walk outside, take in a deep breath, and let out an AHHHHHH!!! It sure beats the smell of factories and smog! I'd never go back to the city! As the song says. "Thank God I'm a country boy!"

Country,
I moved from the city to 13 acres of rabbit heaven 6 yrs. ago. Thought I had it made. Only problem is that I have 1/2 acre lots on two sides of me and you guessed it, two a--hole neighbors on the kitty corners of my property.
Probably don't help much that a few buddies dogs ran a cat down in one of their garages !!!
Now I just kinda wait for the a--holes to leave or just run pups.

Beaglman63, Thats a great story on how you met your wife.

We have two boats but not enough time to fish. I have a 12 acre running pen and wish I had fenced more. I keep around 50 dogs in order to keep the old CHB Hank's Jo Jo Blue and FC BluRock Hobo bloodlines going. I also keep some other lines. I am keeping a whole litter of pups sired by Reggie and out of my bluetick daughter of Branko' Jackpot. I always like to have more than enough of everything including dogs. I have had dogs and lived in the country most of my 63 years.
Sounds like a great setup. If I am ever down your way I'd to watch some of your dogs run.

I live in the country and own 7 acre that borders over a few hundred acres of woods and fields. A little bit of every kind of game lives in my backyard.
