FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE MONTHS SOME OF YOU BRAGGED ON THE MIGHTY BLUEBACK, NOW FOR A MONTH A DOUBLE BLUE BACK MALE HAS BEEN FOR SALE IN THE TRADING POST, MY QUESTION IS WHERE ARE ALL THE BLUEBACK FANS NOW, POST IS UNDER MR STEVE BARNHART OF LONDON ,OH .HERE IS ONE THAT CAN BE HAD FOR 100.00 DOLLARS MAYBE WE SHOULD START A BLUEBACK RESCUE.
I've got a Spicer's Blue Back granddaughter and she's got A TON of hunt and A BIGGER nose, phenomenal actually. She'll never leave my kennels. 2 reasons why he's prob. still for sale:
1. It's a slow time of year to move dogs, ever put a dog up for sale right after rabbit season ended vs. right before the seaon comes in?
2. He's a speed 5 on a 1-10, if he were advertised on the SPO board, he'd move quicker, I would venture to say the majority on TAB run faster hounds.

I am planning to breed my double bred Branko bitch to the above pup's sire in the next year. It is a proven cross. Only these pups won't be selling for $100.00 but rather $300.00 a piece and I believe many are already spoken for.

ROTFL! johnnyringo, didn't you get the memo? All good dogs of all times are suppose to throw whole litters of world-beaters every time out when bred to any given female, and there will never be a variance in the offspring, and every owner will always be happy with what he got. Those are the "Mighty Dog Rules."The guy who started this thread needs to turn down his flame thrower. LOL

"rumor"has it that the guy who owned him got him from the pound and stuck papers on him????????????
whether it is true or not,who knows, all i know is this, most people that would stick papers on a dog would put good bred papers you would think they would have done the same, the male and female that blue back is out of are not well bred dogs at all.
i aint sayin it is true or not,but the rumor is there, and i have heard from people that know the owner that say the rumor is true, and some say it is false, who knows and as far back as it is,who cares.
obviously the dog is a proven reproducer, there is no way to determain if the rumor is true or false, but the dogs offspring speak louder than the rumor as far as i am concerned.

There is thread some where on this board that goes through the rumors and countering statements.
Bottom line is, who cares?
Are we seeing if the pups are royalty to become the next King of England or are we looking at performance and reproducing offspring?
How many people have seen the dogs on their dog's pedigrees actually run?
How do you determine if dogs are "well bred"?
(I've seen a lot of junk dogs that were "well bred").
If you are smart you see run and hunt with both parents, or dogs from the same cross.
If you are like the majority of people you roll the dice and pay $150-250 for a pup out of dogs you heard were good and hope it turns out to be the next world beater.

Here is a response I posted on another board about the difference between a grade dog and registered dog.
The difference is with a registered dog you have a piece of paper telling you the names of; breed, sire, dam, breeder, owner, and dog.
With that information you can find more information about the traits and characteristics of dogs from the same lineage, or similar breeding.
If you spend a lot of time and effort researching bloodlines, you can get an idea of some common traits of certain blood lines/dogs.
It still will not make the dog run a rabbit. The dog will still be very similar to one or both of the parents (even if the great grand-daddy was the greatest dog ever lived).
Once you look up all this information, you can brag on the internet, at hunts, gas stations, work, etc. about how your dog was bred out 8 field champions, 3 bench champions, and it's great-great-great grandfather was the famous "elmo" dog that was the foundation stock of the great "elmo line".
Nice information for you to know, very few others in the free world care.
All they want to know is "Will it run a rabbit?"
Personally I really like the fact that I send $20 in to get a piece of paper telling me that my dogs is a beagle, it's parent's name, the breeder, and that I am the owner. What a bargain, I wonder if I can pay to register anything else I own to tell me what I already know.
I do like NKC - ARHA registration because the dog's pedigree is on the registration papers (if those dogs were NKC registered). I like to look at pedigrees of dogs I am interested in and try to link similarities to the names on the pedigree. However, I don't care if a dog has papers or not.
What I look at is;
A. How does the dog perform?
B. Does the dog throw pups with those same qualities?
