puppy scam, beware

Post by bruceIndiana »

puppy sellers beware. someone has tried to scam me out of money after i posted puppies for sale on this message board. i received a cashier check for a large amt of money for "shipping fees". the check is bogus, but looks very real. the buyers story sounds real. they will contact you via email, and "voice over internet". they will use very "broken" english in the emails. don't fall for it. if you want need more details, contact me.

seller beware

This wa just sent to me about a pup.

Hello,

i saw the advert of your puppy on the net and i am much more interested in purchasing it for my son's birthday coming up soon, um you might be wondering about the pick up to our location, but do not be bothered about that cause i have my own arrangement made for the pick up, an international pick up agent will come straight down to your location to have it picked up, and as for the payment i can do better by the us certified cashiers check or a money orders. so i,ll like you to mail me back as soon as you get this message with the Price and more pics and also i hope the puppy is still in good condition?

Thanks and God bless.

please mail me back as soon as you get this message here teamwin1975@yahoo.co.uk

My Regards

That is the one of the advantages of never shipping a dog to anyone you don't know. If the buyer comes to your kennel and pays with cash there is a much better chance that you will both be happy with the transaction.

seems like anytime i put something for sale i get a bunch of these... I always respond something like this:

1. O.K. so you're a low life bottom feeding thief, thats bad enough, but at least try to be a little more original. This scam is so old...... I guess you're also a stupid uncreative thief, go figure.

2. Secondly as my opinion of thieves is quite low and you are desperate for money, show up on my doorstep and let me tear into your a$$ and I'll give you the $1000 or whatever you were trying to steal from me. Just let me know when will be good for you and I'll get you my address.

I haven't had any takers yet, go figure.

Someone tried to pull the same stunt on me last year,I was trying to sell a dog for $500.00 and they sent me 4-$900.00 US postal money orders a total of $3800.00.They looked authentic but didn't have the safety feature,Ben Franklins head,on the left side, you can see by holding a legitimate one up to light.I turned the money orders and the email address over to the postal service, but I haven't heard anything.

Well..... I'm happy that the beagler I bought my pup from and trusted me enough with a few money orders to ship the pup from Kentucky to Maine so I could pick up and take home to PEI Canada.
I can understand overseas, etc. and not being trustworthy.. I had guys call from Africa trying to buy real estate over the phone, I just hang up everytime I get an overseas call... it's not worth it.

Friend of mine had the exact same thing happen with her art, if it sounds too good to be true.... it usually is !

I get a lot of these to. They are easy to spot because of how they word the emails. You'd think they'd get smarter but, Nope! Here is a site of a gal that likes to prank them back..LOL some funny reading.
