couple of drops of ivermectin in the ears work well. I put about 3/10's of a cc in each ear. the vet that I worked for teached me that trick. do it once a month and no ear mite problems here. Just make sure you clean thier ears before.

Best way to clean their ears is to put a couple of drops of baby oil in there, rub the flap a little to work it in. Then get out the Q tips. The oil softens the crud right up. Then I use ivermectin just like he does.

Ivomec works wonders but WD-40 or a couple of drops of brake fluid will also do it. Also if you ever have a dog with a touch of mange inject but a 1/10 cc of Ivomec just under the skin at the site of hair loss.

To clean the ears i use a home aid mixture of my vet told me to use it about the same thing as the cleaner that you by.
1 cup of rubbing alcohol
1 tablespoon of dawn dish washing liq.(blue kind for flea's)
1 cup of water.
It makes enough for about 4-5 dogs

I make it buy the big jug!
1 bottle of rubbing alcohol
2-3 tablespoons of dawn dish washing liq.(blue kind for flea's)
then i use the empty bottle from the alc. and fill it with water.

The alcohol and dawn will kill the mites too. The dawn breaks down the oil in the ears and cleans the cruddy dirt out. The alcohol with help keep the ear infections down drys the ears out.

PS if you get the winter green alcohol it leaves a nice smell to them!

1 part ivomec to 10 parts water; 3-4 drops in each ear every other day for 2 weeks. It is important to treat every dog in the kennel. Otherwise they just keep reinfecting each other.

Would you put WD-40 or brake fluid in your ear?
I wouldn't put it in my dog's ear.

I have seen and heard grims recipe about all my life, but never used it.

I have used paramite dip for ear mites (sponge both on inside and outside of ear, but not down into the ear.
I have also used ivermectin injection along with Nu-stock paste.
