I bought the Woody Max boots right before our trip to Drummond Island this past October, and I couldnt be more pleased with them. They are absolutely waterproof, lightweight, warm and comfortable. I don't hit the briars like I did when I was younger, I let the hounds do that ;) , but they are tough enough for anything I need to do with them....Tony

Muck boots are fairly tough and 100% waterproof. The only draw back I have seen to them is they can and will get cut by barbed wire fences. We have alot of them around here and they can pose a problem. Other than that they are lighter, warmer, and more waterproof than leather. I love mine and use them alot this time of year and early spring. They will get hot when temps get up a little above 60. If they do get a tear in them it can be easy repaired with marine goop that is available at most hardware stores. Thorns are usually not a problem with these but I have heard from some of the coonhunters they can be. Hope this info is helpful!

Me and my husband both have muck boots and we love them.
Just make sure your briar chaps cover the outside, that outter layer can get tore but they remain waterproof.
They are the easiest boots to run in and my husband loves judging in them.Warm and comfortable.

I just bought a pair of Woody Max Mucks. These are by far the best pair of boots I have ever owned.

These are the first boots I have ever had that my feet do not get cold in and are Super Comfortable. Worth every penny!!!!!!!!!

I've got a pair and i wouldn't have anything else, they are warm and dry, they also allow your feet to breath so they don't sweat on hot days when wearing a lite sock, like swamp mama said the draw back is the briar's will tear the outer cover but they will not leak and yes they are the easy boot I've own to run, no slipping on the heal with a snug fit, i always buy a 1/2 size bigger than i need to, don't think you can go wrong with them i bought mine on sale at our local co-op for 49.00

Lacrosse over Muck

Post by Moore Beagles »

I have tried the Muck boot several years ago, but have since switched to the Lacrosse Alfa Burly, Its a copy of the Muck, but has alot better sole. The Neoprene is so much lighter than rubber, but they will tear up without chaps. I wear them for Turkey/Deer, and then put chaps over them for Rabbit. The standard weight has a fleece lining that gives you a broad temp. range. I have a 800 gram thinsulate pair for real cold weather, but never have to wear them unless I'm in a deer stand not moving. Once I found these boots, all my others were obsolete. Gregg

I like the muck boots.
I have the muckmaster.
They are great, but not as warm and comfortable to walk in rugged terrain as a good set of hunting boots.
They are great for around the house and days when you are not going into steep country all day.

I have a pair of muckmasters. They are great when it is wet and rainy or snowy and I am going to be on flat ground. When I am on a steep West Virginia hillside I do not think they are worh a dime. They just do not dig into the ground very well. They are very warm and work great on my deerstand in cold weather but I do not walk very far and it is a pretty easy walk. My feet sweat in them a lot unless it is very cold.
