I think you would be happier with tri-tronics.....spend a few extra $$ and it will last you longer and work better.....I dont have any vested interest in tri-tronics but they have a monopoly in shock collars, they are not that much more......

While Tritronis is a great product, it is not the only choice...

I have been using Dogtra Collars for over 3 years, which is about as long as they have been around. From Oct to the end of Feb I use these collars for 3 or 4 days a week. They are used frequently during the spring and summer. They have never failed me. They do not have any fancy bells, whistles or viberators but they do have 8 levels of power that gets the job done. Level one normally is enough for most corrections and the highest settings will stop the most determined dog. When used correctly (held high and away from my body) they will go the distance when needed.

I did not think that they could make them any better but they did. I recently received my second 4 dog set of Dogtra collars and like the new placement of the on/off switch and the improved way of indicating when batteries need to be charged.

I can not speak to the repair services provided by Dogtra, because I have not had a need to use it. I have high hopes that now that they have their feet on the ground they will strive to earn a good rep for repairs and when honoring their Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I do wish they offered a 6 dog unit, even that would not be enough for my needs, so I would end up carrying two transmitters. Two 4 dog units will allow me to run a full pack with every hound under my control.

Most of us seemed to like what we have and think that we have made good choices. I have Lemon hounds and Dogtra collar and I like them both. I can not say they are better than Tri-Tronics but I can say they are an excellent product that gets the job done. Tri-Tronics has been around much longer so they must be the best. I wonder? More hunters have Tri-Tronics so that must mean that they are the best. I wonder?

I can not say that TriTronis are the best and I can not say they are not the best. I have never strapped a Tri-Tronics collar on one of my dogs, so I just do not know. I have logged a 1000 plus hours on my original 4 dog Dogtra Collars and must say that I liked them well enough to go out and purchase a second set.

Those of you that have never used Dogtra Collars may not know what you are missing. I should send this post to the Dogtra Company and see if they will send me a cap or T-Shirt.

Check out my web site for all I know about were to find and how to use these collars..
