Well I also thought it was just in the Kennel!!! Once out of the kennel or out of the Box NO Aggressive behavior!! none!! Next time he Does it on the lead Flip him over on his back look him Right in the EYE and tell him NO!!!!
Do this every Time.....
I went back and Reread the post and still cannot see where he said on the lead... if he is that aggressive All the time you need to nip it in the bud.. I have one that will growl a little at SOME dogs in the field when first turned out But that is IT no nippin or Fighting and it is usually when another dog is posturing at him also...If the Dog is Aggressive JUST in the kennel then it will work itself out in time BUT if it nips or Bites at other dogs when loose thats a different Story all together!!!
You need to Show this Dog WHO is BOSS and follow thru when it does this type of behavior....
I have one that at a young age (Under a year) that got to thinkin He was all that and would growl and posture at other dogs While showin him Who was Boss he decided to give me a little NIP i flipped him Over Got his Ear Between my Teeth and DREW BLOOD all i gotta do is show him my teeth and give a little Growl and he is Down You gotta Show em that YOU are ALHPA

My brother has a bitch that will face bark and get a little moody on the lead and when you first turn her out. When I go hunting with him .. he leaves her ar home. Boy's ya foolin' yourself's if you think it does not have an impact on the hunt or on other dogs. When you have spoke to your dogs either with the collar or the boot about anything and then someone else is doing the same, your dog remembers this and it does effect them. A dog without manners is no dog for me.

First time that dog growls or even starts to rumble a little - hair stands up on back or any other dominant poor mannered behavior... Grab him up and flip him down on his back. Forces him to be in a very submissive position. Make him lay there while the other dog or dogs hover over him. If he shows any more agressive behavior scold him and give him a good shake and lay him right back down on the ground on his back. Make him lay there until he calms down and accepts the other dogs. May neeed several sessions of this. Once he calms down praise him and send him on his way to find a rabbit. Did this with a dog 8-10 years ago and he got over it. If another dog got fiesty with him he just looked at me and then put his head down like he was in trouble and then plodded off into the brush to find a rabbit. Once the dog reallizes the behavior won't be tollerated he will conform. You are the pack leader! Dan

The dog has never been aggressive to a person.
It is just other dogs.
If she is on a lead, and another dog tries to check her she will nip and growl. She has also jumped on other dogs (not beagles).
I could care less if you like it. I feed her and chances are you will never see her.

I have a bitch and a 14 month old dog puppy out of her that are this way. They're indoor/outdoor dogs and I notice when indoors, the male will growl ferociously when he jumps down off the couch or comes in through the doog & another intact male is in the house ... Same thing happens when I let them loose in the field. If I go out with this particular male and another intact male, he will growl as I am taking him out of the box. I'm not particularly happy about this streak of alpha male crap, but there is a vast difference between dog to dog and human aggression. I know this hound is actually very submissive and as friendly as can be with me and other people, so in this instance, I tolerate it. Both the bitch and her pup are outstanding field dogs and have too many positive attributes for me to ever consider culling. I will, however, be attempting to breed this trait out in the future ...
Below are pics of the 3 year old bitch and her "pup" ;) The female is the one on the tree, pic was taken when she was 5-6 months.
And, BTW, HoneyPot - the bitch in your avatar is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!

Good sharp knife and some tar and sulphur and in a minute he would be and act like a gentleman. Very common in horses, why not dogs?

JMO, but thats just on another level of agression and I don' tthink anyone here would tolerate that. What I was referring to, and IMO what the OP meant was about dogs kenneled together sparring over dominance - not all out fighting.
