swollen foot

swollen foot

went hunting today and one of my dogs got a thorn between her toes i pull it out but her wouldn`t walk in it, and now went i got home her foot is all swollen up what would help for the swellen.

Are you sure you got the whole Thorn? You might want to look closer and see if there are any others or if you missed a piece of it. You could try soaking the foot in warm salt water. If there is a piece left it might need to fester to get it out unless you take her to the vet.

I would look real close for something else stuck in the foot. Last summer I noticed my Pete dog limping after we got home from running. When I looked, his foot was swollen up like a balloon. A real close examination showed a 3 inch long twig penetrated his foot just behind the upper pad. Still took a day and a half for the swelling to go completely down.
