Bass Pro

Post by BAYOU »

Just a little off subject but needing to vent a little. Stopped by the Bass Pro this evening to get a new pair of boots and of course they didn't have my size but on to the more important subject. I was going to pick up a pack of the new platinum tip power belts to try over the regular copper tips (muzzle loader) that I have been using when I approached the gun counter to inquire about the difference. It is really amazing the people that they have working the counters (specialty counters) that don't know there head from a hole in the ground. And what is worse is the fact they try to talk like they know what they are talking about. I almost laughed out loud to the fact that they know zilch, maybe to the weekend yuppies. I am by no means a proffesional but not an idiot either. Good luck to those that actually are looking for help in these big chain stores, but to be fair I could have gotten a new guy too. Lettin off a little frustration

I'm pissed at the also, too bad they are the only game in town. I bought a 22' boat from them and a wheel bearing burnt up half way to the keys. I made it on 3 wheels. I called Bass Pro, no problem we'll take care of it. Half way through the week they still wouldn't return mine or the shop's call. So I paid $350 to get it fixed. The VP has told me twice he would reinburse me but hear I am 3 years later and no money!

I'm going to try the Better Business Bureau, we'll see.

Lots of snipers toooo with all these scopes coming from them!!!!! Oh well its the sign of the times,, either we make em RICH or we have to fight em!!!!! I'd rather we HAMMER THEIR ASS"S but I'm just a lowly Tax payer now!!!!

Speaking of Walmart....... We got one of those new Super Wal-marts this past spring but for some reason they didn't have the gun rack like they did at the old store they moved from across the street. When we asked why, we were told that Wal-mart would still sell amo but was phasing out the gun sales and in the future, none of the stores would sell guns. It is sad to say but Wal-mart has kept the cost of guns from going through the roof so I can only wonder what is going to happen now.

i talked to the sporting goods manager here in bedford indiana before they opened up the new supercenter. he said all the new stores would not sale anymore guns. there also phazing out the guns in the older stores. he told me that the new north american head honcho who is from south america and turned them around (the reason he got the north american job) is anti gun and doesnt want to sale guns. now this may or may not be true but something happened, maybe they didnt want to full with the registering i dont know.

I went to Wal-Mart Sunday evening 7PM to buy a case of .22 LR. It took 20 minutes to get someone to wait on me and 5 minutes to explain what .22 LR were and that 10 boxes make a case. They do have great prices but lousy service.

Well, on the plus side.... everyone gripes that WalMart killed all the "mom and pop" shops..... If anyone wanted to open a "mom and pop" gun shop or sporting goods / gun store.... Wal Mart just opened the market for em'.

Just because Wal Mart won't carry it shouldn't matter. If there is a demand there will be a supply, somewhere.

SB, The Hiram Wally World lost their Federal Firearms license is what I was told by mangement there. Paper work goof ups??? The WalMart Super on 120 going into Marietta still sells rifles and shotguns though. I've noticed that the camo hunting cloths are stocked fewer this year so sales must be off from past years!!!! Mom and Pop can't buy a Freight Train load of weapons so that'll be a problem for anyone trying that idea!!!

They wont be there for long crewchf I was in the Wally on the East -West yesterday and all the guns are gone. The new store on 41 didn't have one to start luckily I have some gun shops in the area that have prices comparable to or better than Wally. Plus they have people who love guns, are knowledgeable, and will provide prompt courteous service. I wont even by my licenses at Wally's last time it took me almost a half hour first I couldn't find any one to help me then the "sporting goods clerk " didn't have a clue.
