SATISFIED?

well season is getting close do u need to cull out or add too break ,adjust,or what to get ur pack where u want it for this yr,?> or aRE U SATISFIED..mine have got another yr older my oldest is 3and a half now and youngest is 16 months old now bought 2 new males this yr sold some others and traded a good female for 2 pups they r to young this yr. but with my pack i'll be hunting this yr i'd have to say i'm satisfied!

I'm doing all right. Cleaned house a couple mo. ago, now getting ready to move and I'm already looking for a few more - go figure!

i'm in the same boat as coolbrze need one more to finish that pack of gyp's guess it won't be any males for me this year.. so if any one has a good honest femal med fast send me a line...

I'm looking forward to this year, but I have too many dogs, so the wife says and I agree. I'm going to run all weekend and try to determine what needs to go. RLS, if a cull for lack of foot speed, I'll send you an email, they would be medium fast, cause I like'em real fast.

when i look at my pack now and 4yrs.ago when i got back into rabbit hunting after a 6 yr break i found myself with one really good dog that was my dads who passed away. and a couple of me to hounds. that i picked up but then when she was getting older i had to start looking and it took a while but i found a pretty good hound and now have raised a couple of young dogs that are looking pretty good and bought one more female last hunting season that really adds some power to my chase. i'am starting this season with best pack (as a whole) that a may have ever had so to say the least i am looking forward and am leaning toward the satisfied end of the scale...... ( but ohhhh how quick that could change)

Well, I guess I never going to be 100% satisfied, but I am content w/ what I have going into the rabbit season. Like you I have mainly young dogs, but believe I have solid enough pack to have a very successful rabbit season. I lost a couple veterans last year that I sure wish I still had. Look forward to hunting w/ you this year.

I am like Pete I don't think I will ever own the perfect pack, but after retooling last year I am excited about this year. My oldest is a 3.25 year old female, two two year olds, one 1.5 year old. I also have some unstarted pups that will be ready to run by the first of the year.
I have been running all spring and summer and the younger dogs have matured very nicely for me.
I have a quick pack but moved out some over runners, racers and trash starters. I don't have any dogs that open early and they all know the difference in north and south.

I guess I'm satisfied with what I have right now. My pack has one 6 year old 2 nearly 3yrs, 1 coming on 2yrs and a pup to start. So far it seems like when I hear a bark, its a rabbit and its moving out pretty quickly to keep from getting caught

. My younger brother has already said since it will be moving faster and with my shooting I need to buy some stock options in an ammo company before season starts

I dont have an old dog but my young dogs did great last year so I am content.

Im content with the dogs i have now. My oldest is 5, the middle dog is 2, and the youngest is a little over a year. They go in and get the job done how i want and thats all that matters to me.

I want to add a few more dogs after this season just so i have some pups to mess around with.

I've got four that I really enjoy taking to the field. All hunt and run with energy. One is about seven one three and two are less than two. They all hunt with me and won't quit till I do, then come when called, if they are not on a line.
None of these are perfect. The perfect ones are the young pups that are just starting.

I have two others that are on a precarious bubble. One won't hunt alone and doesn't bark enough, although she can carrty the line. The other I bought last year as a project. She does't seem to like the briars and I suspect that she lacks nose. She is by breeding a track runner and doesn't handle the air scent unless it is red hot.

I'm never satisified. if I was that would mean I have the perfect dog. I have two I can live with that are not for sale the rest are just short term visitors until they prove their worth.
