Hooks For Carring Rabbits
I even carry the rabbits on my sides with shower curtain hooks after they are field dressed.
It would be nice if anyone could tell me where to find heavier gauged hooks than the ones you can pick up at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Wal-Mart’s. I think they’re out there I just haven’t located any. These lighter gauged hooks open up occasionally when carrying a heavy rabbit, or when rubbing up against brush.

When I was a boy, I would use a metal fish stringer to carry squirrels & rabbits. Just poke the metal clip between the tendon & hock of the rear leg and your set to go. Wore it like a belt or hang it in a tree. Good to hang squirrel or early season rabbits in a tree and let the body cool and the bugs leave. You only bring home fleas and ticks to mom once...

That's a really neat idea. And you ain't kidding about the fleas/ticks!!!!!!!S.R.Patch wrote:When I was a boy, I would use a metal fish stringer to carry squirrels & rabbits. Here are some pictures of some hooks that I have been using for some time, and here are also some pictures of hooks I've designed with some help from the rest of you.
I'll show you some pictures & videos with rabbits hanging from them Monday night.

I'd actually like to find some shower curtain hooks like these, but in a much heavier gauged steel. I checked most every where I can think of. Any help would be appreciated. I would even consider getting them made out of "spring steel".
