Fetching Pixels,
Your right about IDIOTS here is a good story. I know this woman who got a beagle as a pet. a couple months go by and she ask me if i want it and i told her no, and asked why she was getting rid of it. she said it won't stop barking at that cage and i asked what is in the cage and she says i got a new rabbit and she won't stop barking at it. DUH
I don't think she has the beagle anymore.

I also agree with Pixels. You got a lot of people that do their breeding the right way, but you got just tat many more who breed everything in their pens. And I'm not sayin they're wrong for doin it because it's their dogs but I do think it's stupid. As for the guy you thinks he can come on here and insult people I just assume he leaves the board. THis is a clean board for the most part and it's people like him that give Peta enough ammo that they're probably gonna wipe out hunting all together one day.

People acting like this will surely turn non-hunters against us.badlands wrote:fellows pull up her past posts you,ll see what she thinks about hunters.
Heck, she tried to join a beagle club where she lives and was turned down! What does that say for beaglers?

Through private conversations, I would say she is way beyond what she was when she first came here. She has wanted to learn here and other boards as well. Ya'll really need to lay off of her and give her a chance.
Besides, she was right with what she posted.

swamper i for one think hunters fishmen trapper hell you name it has buried our heads in the sand long enough i don,t see not fighting for your rights in the usa, the girl in question comes on this post and pisss on us all the time. i for one think the usa needs to not act like england. they can,t run fox there with hounds anymore because people would not fight.she has a right to her opinion but if she starts pissing on people we should have the right to fight back.
I retired from a job working with a company in there computer area. I have just been blown away with our ability to communicate about our sport. What i really hate is the few that use the internet to belittle others. In starting this thread i did not have any idea that someone should try to hurt others with words. I can only imagine some very very small individual behind a keyboard that would probably run if he had to face who they disgrace. Words hurt either verbally or by a keyboard..AS ABSHIRE SAYS CANT WE ALL GET ALONG..
Beagles are probably one of the most common dogs. Why ? Because they are so darn cute and also years back most people hunted for food and just so happened they are good at it. People also just let their beagles run and if they got bred so be it. Hmm with all that going on probably increased the numbers greatly. Consider this you dont see Bull Terriers given away free but how many of those have you seen on the farms and what purpose do they serve. JMO, Paul

I don't care what Anti's think. They can kiss my arse and smile about it when they get done.
However, the non-hunters (I think 85% of Americans) is the folks I want to befriend. Most are not against hunting yet they don't hunt. Turn them and we're through.
FP didn't say anything about any hunter in her posts. What she said weeks ago was out of line and I've told her that. However, after talking with her away from this board and on other boards, I think, no, I know, from what I hear from her that her attitude has changed. She is trying to join a club near her and wants her dog to run rabbits.
If you want to change someone's mind about yourself, you certainly don't bash them and send personal attacks towards them. SOunds like something Howard Dean would do. lol

ive owned beagles off and on for 15 years now. i know people that just dump dogs on the side of the road because they cant get them started or they run deer. if the dog is no count they just dump it on a back road and hope it finds a home. some do find a home, some get hit by cars, some get shot for wondering onto someones property and some go to the pound. me i think if the dog is no count you should just cull it and get it over with.
Whoa folks, I think maybe some might have taken what was typed in the wrong context and if not then I did. I don't know anything about Pixels but I thought the post was slamming puppy mills that bred great numbers of puppies just because they have registration papers on them. I just kind of read between the lines to make that assumption as I noticed or thought her dog came from a shelter. I really don't think someone would come onto a beagler board and intentionally slam those of us that frequent it. That would be about the most idiotic thing for someone who was looking for advise to do as we are ALL lovers of the breed. Maybe I'm the dense one that didn't get the slam??

Someone said to look through the girls posts and I did. Didn't see anything out of the way. Seems to me like she just wants to learn.

What's being said about winning people over is dead on the money. Our hunting heritage is on the ropes here, some parts of the country are in worse shape then others. The problems of England could very easy come our way and sooner than we think too. I talk it up good about the sport of beagling and I see lots of folks every day in my job. What troubles me most is when I tell peple that we don't shoot rabbits anymore, this is just for the chase, you can see a sigh of relief in their eyes. THIS AIN'T GOOD AT ALL Folks and I'll bet I ain't the only one who is seeing this reaction in peoples faces. We've had folks in Petsmart ask us if our beagles tear the rabbit up and kill it when they catch it!!!! Yup, there's folks out there thats that dumb but they are voters who may control our destiny some day soon. If you explain out to them whats going on they'll at least try to understand us. Fair chase is another issue we need to address cause lots of folks don't believe useing dogs is fair chase at all, I'm talking about non hunters here so don't nobody here get their panties in a wad over that one. We've got a lot of work to do to save our sport but I believe we can do it!!!!
