Danny,
Have you ever found a dog? What part of WV are you from? I may have a contact # for you. Let me know. Looks like some have forgotten what this post was originally about. I hope you are not new to the beagling world because this is just a very SMALL part of it. I have let stuff like this keep me away from trialing, but I am going to try to overlook the bickering and feed what I like and be happy with MY dogs and breed what I want to what I want. There are breeders out there that have put in alot of time and effort to better the breed and have taken alot of work out of it if you dont have the time. As said before I drive a Chevy, you drive a Ford. Go to the Krpans' and the Sesters' and Cress's and all of the successful breeders (or those that have bought from them) and "test drive" their dogs and see what you like. Between WV, VA, OH and KY you should be able to find exactly what you want. If you want to buy straight from the Krpans, that is your perogative....go for it. I would just recommend to GO TO them and watch the dog first. Good luck.
If you were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

I am interested in a AKC Female only. Would like something that can run in the Little Pack Format. Although I primarliy only Gun Hunt. I also do not like dogs that bark alot before the Rabbit is Jumped.

S.R. Patch I mean no disrespect but I couldn't disagree more with your post. No one in their right mind would sell pups to the general public for less than half what the general public is willing to pay, other than maybe to a young kid wanting to get into beagles or to friends that they know are going to do right by the pup, and like Bev said we don't know that the Krpans don't do that. As soon as the Krpans or anyone started selling pups for $200 that they had a demand for at $500 or $600 what would happen is people would start buying them for $200 and selling them for $500 or $600 themselves. It's all about supply and demand as long as there is a demand for Branko bred pups someone is going to make money on them so why shouldn't it be the people who put the hard work and dedication into the pups.

There are a lot of post on here from people that have bought pups directly from the Krpans that are very satisfied with the money they spent on the pup and several say they wouldn't hesitate to buy another from them. This is why Branko can sell the number of pups he does every year, as soon as he quits caring about beagles and only about dollars his quality will suffer people will be dissatisfied and quit buying his pups and he will be like everyone else on here and be lucky to sell two litters a year at a third the price.

For those that post on here and say the Krpans are running a puppy mill my question to you is how does one become a puppy mill and sell pups for $500 when dealing with beagles? If you haven't noticed there is no shortage of well bred pups on the trading post for one-third what branko gets for his. It's not just a matter of breeding a bunch of females and selling pups if it were that easy everyone would be getting rich off beagles. Branko is able to do it because of years of hard work, dedication and a love for beagles.

It's little jabs like this that I have a problem with, then you pretend you meant nothing by it. Speaking the truth and standing up for those who can't defend themselves is not "worshipping" it's called being a friend. Let me point out that you never even tried to answer the original question you just jumped back on your soapbox and started preaching your number of liters per year garbage.

S.R. I have to agree with cabin fever and Bev, supply and demand.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that the Krpans are people too, who make a modest living doing what they love to do. Those of us who have met them and seen their set-up know this to be true. It's not right or fair that they should have their names dragged through the mud based on someones hunch, I thought we where all in this together.

I won't try and hide the fact that my pups are to young to tell much yet and that they are my first Beagles in a long time. But the help and guidance I have gotten from the Krpans speaks volumes to me about the type of people they are, Branko has phoned me three times to see how the pups are doing and when I might come and run with him again, not alot of beaglers in Manitoba lol. Dogs, money, right and wrong aside, the Krpans are genuine people who deserve to be treated with the same respect we all do, not worshipped just live and let live. Thanks.

Sav, you haven't been on these boards for very long therefore you haven't seen blackdirt at his best ;)
Blackdirt would rather sit at a computer and beagle than actually go to the woods with them. He bought a few Bramlett hounds and bred them , now he has his own line  When asked to back his claims about the quality of his hounds he refuses to trial or leave his home town to show them. Over the last few years he has posted about 4 or 5 studs to breed to. Only to sell them in the same year. He has no pups from any of them  He has never seen a hound bred by Branko only hounds with Branko blood. He got a pup last year out of peewee grizz, that he had no idea about the bottom side but wanted to use him as a stud at 8 months. I could go on and on about this guy because I have read just about every thing he has posted  He never misses an opportunity to try and bash the Krpans and their hounds. I would call it little man syndrome but I have seen pictures of him  Therefore I blame it on the green eyed monster.
I wouldn't get all worked up over what he says because it means nothing! As most people on here already know ;)
So that is Blackdirt in a nut shell, a Branko hound would not do well in his hands as everyone knows they need to be ran. They are not for hobby beaglers :P

If it is true that imitation is the best form of flattery, then the Branko’s must be proud. They have left a positive mark on our sport that will last for decades. I may never get a dog from them but I am happy with the dogs I own that have descended from there kennel.

I use these Branko knock offs for little pack and hunting. All of my dogs come up thru Heli-prop (and before its asked I never seen him run) and I am sure they are comparable to there northern relations.

Sorry if this has already been posted............ It was too much for me to read thru so I skimmed it

WOW!!! At least 8 pages and still growing? I don't know about you but I'm real impressed. All this free advertising!!! I think I'll go to Branko's website now and buy a dog right away before they're allllllllllllllllll gone!!!

Let me start something else. I think this wonderful breed should sell for at least $600+ per pup just like a lot of other purebreds. Has anybody bought a purebred Labrador lately? Why can't beagles be that way? That would separate the men from the boys. Go to your nearest mega-pet-store and price a beagle pup if you can find one. You might be surprised how much you would have to pay. Think about it.
I'VE GOT SOME DOGS THAT ARE GONNA HURT SOME FEELINGS!!!!! I just hope it's not mine. Home of Wild Hare Kennels and FC Creek Woods Blue.

as usual FARWEST, your way off on your stories  and just follow me around to bash me. thats why you got booted on the other boards. i got a question for you though... hows come you never give out your name or phone # so people can call you? its easy to hide online isnt it? you can hassle anyone you want and not have to be responsible for anything you say. i dont have a problem with you hassling me, just be big enough to sign your real name. i think maybe as much as you hassle me, you might be the one with the jealously trouble. i dont have time or the desire to go thru your whole post and correct it, but yes i have ran with 4 (at least) dogs directly from branko and 2 id call decent dogs, 1 was just a started dog so you cant really grade it and the other was a swinging mouthy deer runner who was a cull by anyones standards but branko still made $1800 off of him  . and as for me running dogs, im sure i dont do that as much as you  but i get out this time of year 2 - 3 times a week and in the winter months when im slow at work, i'll go 5 or 6 days a week depending on family commitments.
i see there is another post about using a young stud... you better hop over and start your bashing or is it only wrong if i want to do that??

as for tommyg- you got anything useful to say or are you just another follower like farwest? what a joke  .

CF & Sav,
I respect both your opinions, I only said what I would or rather do, what others do is their business. ;)

Black street boy , as usual you speak but never talk anything useful .
I will agree with yote hunter sav and farwest , unless its a grade dog it sucks in your eyes . Well as all know by now i post by my name not by a cb handle . You could not carry brankos water on a hot day. As far as managing a breeding program ? I sincerly doubt you could manage a lemonade stand my friend , why dont you trial anyway ? Dont say it does not interest you because you hang out on a trialer website . Run them dogs not that mouth man .

Okay guys, it's one thing to disagree and debate... it's another to outright bash each other. Can we tone it down just a bit?
