Geeze Bev, I go to Wisconsin for some hare running and a suprise 40th for my brother and I get this bombshell dropped on me when I get back. WOW! After reading all the other posts, I can say ditto to that.
I certainly wish you the best of luck with your new found "freedom" from the total package grind, but I am sure we will still keep you busy as heck. Although I have never met you in person, we have chatted online a couple of times and twice on the phone (if memory serves me correctly), maybe we can can meet up if you take a trip down to see Sally before I head north to Michigan.
May the good Lord continue to bless you and your endeavors and hopefully we can expect the same great magazine from the new owners.
I am debating about a story from this latest trip up north, but there might be too much deception about the suprise b-day party for my bro...

My friend Bev,
Wow, what a splash through the beagling world you made! I was sad to hear of the sale as I too felt that TAB was indeed you! But I also know that with each ending comes a new begining. Im sure you know my feelings for you and the magazine, but in case you dont, guess I'll have to tell you again.
I remember a long time back when you first started to post on the old ARHA Q&A. (one of the first women that I can remember doing so) Man oh man did they give it to you! When I saw your name I used to think "oh boy I got to read this one from the Wolflady". I gave you that little nickname because of the story you wrote, "The wolf in your backyard". I looked beyond your gender and actuly read your threads, that to me made more sence than alot of the oldtime-self thought- experts.
Since then, you have proved to alot of others of your knowlage and dedication to this sport. And how many of us would have had the bawls to quit a good job and start a new beagle magazine? Not too many including me! Bev, you have and always will, my respect as a beagler, an author, and a person. You will be rememberd for the one who broke down the walls of beagling and united the beagling world reguardless of registry. I leave you with my prayers for your future, my many thanks, as well as my friendship.
You always have a friend in New York!

Bev me buddie
Congrats on the effect you made with the mag and board. I must thank you from the canadian hosers who were treated with respect and compassion regarding our minor position in the great scene of beagling. I just passed on my most recent copies of 'your' mag to be fetched to the island of Cape Breton. The quality in all dimensions has continued to be surpassed from issue to issue and I wish your successors the best of luck. Try to guide your baby eh! L&S monk

Emery, if you'd sit ur butt still for 5 minutes u'd know these things (lol). I will be in Owensboro this weekend.... if you haven't moved by then. Thank you for your contributions over the years. I can remember your very first articles - when you lived out "where God lost his shoes" ... Podunk, Idaho, right? I remember the birth of your kids (well... not the actual birth ) ... but I remember your proud announcements and all the baby pics of your new future beaglers. I also remember cajoling you to move to the Mid-West where there were actual rabbits to run, and other man-womankind who owned beagles. Remember the computer property searches? LOL.Geeze Bev, I go to Wisconsin for some hare running and a suprise 40th for my brother and I get this bombshell dropped on me when I get back.
Good grief, why am I talking like I'm leaving the planet? I'm not going anywhere, lol.
Dang... now you're gonna make me cry. (...and yes, I'm afraid of spiders, too...). The ARHA board brings to mind my childhood. I started playing volleyball at the local community center when I was 9. Even though the group that played were all teenage boys, the director made them let me play. They hated it (the first year) and would spike the ball at me, make it rough, any way to run me off, but I stayed and got tough. The next year I was always 2nd or 3rd player chosen when they picked teams for the night. I was well-prepared for whatever the old ARHA board had to dish out. Bush league. *winks*Bev, you have and always will, my respect as a beagler, an author, and a person. Now I have a memory for you. I can remember when I was doing that first cover of you and Syris. We quickly became friends over the phone, and you told me that starting a new business was hard, and you knew that times might get lean. You told me when you were starting your new business, there were times when you and Sy ate spaghetti for a week - you knew what running lean was. Then you said "Bev, if you ever need anything... even if it's just 50-dollars for groceries, just call me." I'll never-ever-ever forget that.
I also remember the late night phone calls just to chat beagling stuff. 3 hours later, and me sick from laughing so hard, let me take this opportunity to tell you officially that ur INSANE. lmao. I hope we get to do that again soon.
Thank you ALWAYS for your big heart. Your friendship is golden to me, and I know the way to Buffalo. By the way... can I borrow 50 bucks? (JUST KIDDING

*chokes, gags, spits* "minor position in the great scene of beagling?" LMAO!!!I must thank you from the canadian hosers who were treated with respect and compassion regarding our minor position in the great scene of beagling.
I must thank you hosers from Canada from us Yanks in the U.S. for the dogs... The hard work done in Canada is the foundation for MANY of our kennels down here. Y'all have been good stewards of the breed, good neighbors, good friends. We are separated only by a river, a tiny customs toll booth thingy - you know, insignificant crap. (The duty-free stores on the other hand, are pretty kickin'!) I haven't made my last trip to Canada in this sport, or as an editor. I hope we always stay friends. Besides, we have work to do - remember?

Bev , Wow what new's sorry to here you sold the Mag but maybe you will have time to do what started you in the buisness ( Running Those Hound's ) . Thank's for all you have done Bev, for the beagleing world . Maybe I will see you done the rode. talk to ya later Bev

Bev, my machine has been on the fritz, but looks like it's a go again so I will add my thoughts and good wishes to those many afore me.
Every good thing said thus far, as good as they are, is not enough.....your vison as to what an overall beagle mag really is all about has no doubt raised the bar...for all the other mags to attempt to equal....their journeys will certainly be uphill.
Thanks for every word, page picture, editorial. You have done, in 5 short years what no other mag has come close to doing. This old dog has seen a lot of them come and go but your has been the very best.
I sincerely hope the new owners follow in your footsteps and keep ALL FORMATS of BEAGLING in their mag.
Good luck with your Stud Book, your new beagle. Go Getum Bev. May Freedom Run run forever........

Thank you, Dan... Thank you. Speaking of not enough, "thank you" is not enough to express the gratitude I feel for the friendship you've given me over the years, but especially here as of late. Your words and deeds have kept me from fracturing through one of the toughest times I've ever endured. Dr. Phil speaks of defining moments in one's life, but I feel there are also defining people in everyone's life, and you are one of mine. I have endured this last 6 months largely because of you. You know it and so do I. I hope we always stay good friends, and never let the miles between us matter.
Freedom Run is up and running!

Dear Bev, On behalf of everyone here in the Canadian Beagle Fox Trial Association, we wish you continued success in whatever the future holds for you. You have been behind us and supported our organization with your wonderful articles and your own personal involvement in this sport that we all hold dear to our hearts. We know that you will continue to contribute to this diverse sport that we love. You'll always be welcome to stay with Colleen and I ( How about next weekend?) whenever you wish. It's supposed to warm up in the next couple of weeks, and if you thought they ran good on snow, you'll have to see them run on bare ground.
Hope to see you soon. Wayne Brierley

Wayne, thank everyone for me. You and Colleen were wonderful, fun hosts, and I hope to be able to visit with you again and run the foxes. The CBFTA trial was one of the most fun, relaxed trialing atmospheres I've experienced, and it comes from the people. You would have thought all the members had ownership in each others dogs they way they supported each other. Y'all have something very special in CBFTA (besides Roy Mayes and his story-telling talent, lmao), and I'm so proud of my lifetime membership plaque. Out of all the plaques I've "won" over the years, it's the only one on the wall right now. Can't wait to come back. Maybe I'll have a dog next time.
