Spade is in Ohio right now being ran by Jared McCalister. I judged him in the finals last weekend and toward the end of the hour he seemed to have the other dogs about worn down and was pretty much running solo with everything else just chasing him. On a good rabbit he puts up a pace that other dogs can't handle very well, and I've seen some races where the other dogs would just quit and come out. He's fun to watch.

Post by dawgy76 »

Well I run with Bob and Jerad . Bob had two male dawgs one a pup and Jerad Run the Power Spade and I run a lil bitch and my big male . The first dawg to strike was spade on a big solo shot two dawgs harked to him and my bitch went to em and came back . After that one of the other males found a track and they fell in and run . Spade looked good the first half hour , showed us wheels grabb it and go. About the second hour in he started to fade in the pack , tryin to cut the dawgs skirtin , didnt look good at all . In jerads eyes none of the dawgs looked good , he keeps brings these dawgs up gonna whip us . The last dawg named Montana got sent to the truck early. This Spade dawg looked good the first hour but got run out . Our dawgs run alright , but run better the next day without all the cuttin and divin . Jerad says he just needs run up . You would think a dawg that won the NorthAmerican wouldnt need run up. But thats right they run a hour at a time. No bottom end . Simplly amazing!

Well dawgy if you ran him out , your the first . . Spade is next to impossible to deal with on his kinda rabbit . Ido not own now , nor have owned in the past anything that could step up to em in coal country. If mr bunny wants to cut and swing , i do got something for him . Flat out speed
he has it . Spade may cut and swing at times , but he is usally so far ahead, it didnt matter anyway ... If spade is wild , he was made that way , we ran spade with big dogs at a very young age . Ihave often wondered if he was done right how much better he would have been . has good hunt kinda rangey ... Iam sure if you draw him at the world please by all means ( FIND ME ) i wanna see him ran out again ;)

casey dogs

You talk about stamina those dogs got it , my buddy owns a bitch thats outta lake Owgama Lana she run over at cliff troxills runnin pens for 48 hrs straight . He said besides her Maravics Big Ben was the only other dog he'd seen stay down for that long . Not all my dogs are casey bred but i have a few bitches and a pup . So i like em , as for Jimmie you wont see me at the world cause I dont run NKC. When Jared brought spade to ohio he was sayin he had the power and he was gonna whip us , and he's been bringing all theses dawgs a Grand Lucey , Montana , and Now Spade . THe only dawg ive seen yet that could run well is Spade , he does have wheels , but lacks bottom end he got rougher tryin to cut and skirt the dawgs , until finally he wasnt in the race . And thats not alll I seen he pulled dogs outta the check area too , he did look good for the first half hour to hour, besides the big solo shot that didnt produce , then he slowly fade to the end of the pack at times he wouldnt even be close when they made a lose and the pack fell in and run he'd be so far behind it was funny. So for Jerad to bragg about how he's got all this power and gonna whip us , of course we're gonna pick him to pieces. And dont get me wrong I dont have any World beaters ... but if you talk the talk , walk the walk.

5 OR 6 hours of truly hard running will show on 90% of the hounds out there. I don't know you, but I don't believe I understand that 48hr. comment

dawgy ,I happen to own spade and would also like to say all dogs have thier good and bad days .spade is not in his best shape because of the extremely dry year we are having ( running is poor to awful). As far as running him out in 30 min I dought it .I don't know you or your dogs and don't frequent these boards much, but I like spade ,I feed him and he suits me fine .The reason I quit reading these message boards is because of people like you, always bashing other peoples dogs ,stuck on one bloodline .When was the last time that you watched a hound or hounds that were better than what you were packing .I would bet never .As for all the other beaglers who commented on spade thank you for the kind words . Oh,by the way I will give a new pickup away to anyone that can show me a beagle run for 48 hours solid .
