Lets talk JUDGING and JUDGES!!!!!!
In AKC There are so many good judges(Powers,Piercy,Fetty, ect) I haven't had a bad judge yet. I have messed up and said stuff about a ARHA judge that I regret. So don't let your alls emotions get the best of you all using names in a bad way. Judges are the first to blame if you dogs get picked up or don't get called back. HOMECOOKING might go on in AKC but i have not seen it yet. I want to thank all the judges that have judge my hounds win or loose. I will be a judge soon(when I get 10 licensed trials under my belt) and have to here the same crap. I will Judge the dog not the person for sure. Trials are sometimes very close though. Lets say there are 5 dogs left and two are big name dogs and the other three you never heard of. They are running and scoring and they are about equal, but you have to place them. How do you do it? Remember they all have about the same score. This is where name and how your dog has done comes into play. That is what I see anyway. I have been judged exactly how I should have been in the 4 trials I have been to.

Judges do not get the credit they desirve. They give of thierselves on there off days or take off work to come watch our dogs run. How about instead of getting on here and bashing the crap out of them and thier names, shake there hand and say good job. How about Thanks for your time, you sure tried hard ect. There are alot of people b*tching about judges. (You didn't place until you where a judge.) Get off your butt and get your judging licensed and see what they go through. If judging has to do with you winning there is nothing stopping the people who are not judges from getting their license. Its just an excuse because their dog was picked up or did not place where they thought it should. Thanks JEREMY HUBERT.

Judge by the rules , bring back the dog that fits those rules the best that cast, do not worry about what is at the other end of the lead but judge the dog. Oh you will make a few mistakes and probably miss a check or strike or something that would have sent the cast in a totally different direction, but you can only judge what you can see. I've seen guys that would claim it was their dog doing the barking and think they were right but it would not be that way. What one hears is not always what is happening . sometimes a hound may sound like it is burning it up and just be running around barking and don't even know what it is barking at, it is just me tooing. Have I ever brought back the wrong hound winning !!! Yes probaably so , because of a check I did not get too or a missed jumped but never intentionally. I worry more about the ones I missed , the ones I see are no problem those I get right . I really don't care what color the collar is !!!Sometimes it is bad when the cast members will not say thanks for judging when you have ran till you ready to fall, your clothes are half torn of your skin is bleeding in a dozen spots and some lazy handler that is to lazy to judge doesn't even appreciate it. But do your best it will make some kid happy someday and that will be worth more then pleasing a whole truck load of whinning know it alls. Happy Judging

Thank you both for the honest, positive feed back. In beagling if people would understand what you all seem to understand, it is the dog doing the work not the people holding the lead. Judge the dog, just as you would an athlete. I will say this, The judges I have had thus far have do just that. In this sport you here alot of crying and judge bashing. Sometimes the handlers have a good b*tch, and sometimes its just hot air. Lets run our dogs like the sport it is and leave knowing your dog did its best. Thank you for the input. Maybe the question that might strike the chord is what would improve AKC judging? Being new to AKC I would like some input. To the people who are having a fit or just stating how they feel. What would you all like to see change? Come on be honest, don't be scared. Honest people get things done.

I dont win enuff
. Judging is a thankless job . Just judge the right end of leash , if they still complain
. Who cares . When you are standing in gallery you aint seeing what judges are ... Ireally like the horse conception .. Akc midwest is good guys with good dogs i would recomend it to anyone .

Old school Northway . Full Throttle no Bottle.
I judge and been judged, I no longer field judge, but I do show judge.
You must judge the dog, not the person who is handling the dog.
Just remember everyone looks for different things while judging. It takes time to become a good judge.
You will always have some judges look at the other end of the lead.
Go to an AKC dog show sometime, if you want to see judges look at the other end of the lead and not the dog; but lets keep the field judges honest.
Thank you to all you honest judges out there.
