A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Thanks for your advice! I didn't really make a decision. My wife promised a rabbit gun for my birthday. I told her I couldn't decide until I got some input from experienced rabbit hunters! In the end we ended up with 2. A single shot New England 20 guage and a combination Ruger 410/22. We have one Beagle, Sadie the Wonder Dog. I would like to have more, unfortunately we live in a subdivision that limits the number of domestic animals for each lot. We also have 2 labs, Sam & Tucker. Tucker is a great retriever and loves jumping off the dock! I've thought of trying him in the water dog competitions. Sam on the other hand enjoys the comfort of the grass or the boat. Thank you again for your Help!

I've often thought that a 410/22 combo would be good for rabbits. I currently hunt with a Thompson Encore 410 pistol with a 15 " barrell. It's easy to carry in a bandelero holster and it leaves your hands free to work with dogs, push back limbs and briars, and etc.
Here's a picture for you if you have Labs you'll appreciate this..
