Elmer McKinny had the west river name on a lot of hounds ahe bred & raised . I have had some of his blood=line and liked the one's I had . Elmer new the patch blood good as anyone. IMHO

I owned a few of the West River bred hounds at one time. Good hounds, good noses, good hunt, and ran a good line. I had one of his old females here at one time. Her name was West River August Hope Patch. Had 2 males that were grandpups to Westriver Patch Chevy and Hope. Bred Hope to a line bred Northway male but she lost all the pups. The males were also grandpups to Sandyline Booger Patch. Nice dogs, wish I still had them!

All my patch hounds and 1/2 patch cross have west river blood. Could hound with Emler all day

I really liked west river patch belle, even in her old age she held up well.
I tried to get Elmer to breed her to Casey on her last litter, but he wanted to breed her to Chevy.
I never liked Chevy's looks and he had the loose lower eyelids and the puppies were prone to cherry eyes.

Sandyline was a puppy factory, they'd buy a pair of pups sometimes litter mates and breed them together to sell pups from popular bloodlines.

Elmer and Mossie are fine people, always enjoyed visiting with them...jmho
