F.C.Andy's Clover Patches and F.C. New City Cruiser were by far the best the Association has had. These two both were front end dogs that turn a check as tight as any medium speed dog ever did. I judged these and many other of the well known ones for several years so this is not going by what I heard someone say.

To Guest _ I can assure you that Short's Line Boss never ran in the MidWest SPO association. (LOL) He ran ubgf if I am not mistaken. Midwest SPO runs an aggressive hard hitting hound. UBGF runs a more conservative hound.

U.G.B.F. runs a dog that is at its' fastest day runs medium speed if the "style over accomplishment" judes will let them run any. In the Mid-West I have seen them having to whip a horse so it would run fast enough to keep up with the dogs. Just proving the point that just because you run a rabbit fast it does not go in the hole. Sounds like great "style" to me. My first U.G.B.F. trial was at Lake City club at the Central Ky. Wildlife area in Richmond Ky. 88 females and still done by dark and three packs ran and judged on one rabbit and all done within sight while I did not have to move. Not that these well known "brace" judges went through the dogs a little quick. The 8 dog winners pack, and I use that phrase loosely, was given 3 rabbits in 5 minutes and never left the one acre corn patch they were in because they had so much style they could not accomplish anything.

Line Boss

Line Boss and Iron Mike were both what would be considered UBGF type hounds. NOT walkie talkie's by any stretch of the imagination, these dogs could RUN a rabbit. Don't get me wrong, they weren't as fast as most of the Hare Hounds ran in the Mid-west Association, but they could drive a rabbit just the same. I was told by a man that was a good frind of the owner of Mike that he would run Mike the night before a trial and road him for about a mile behind his truck the morning of the trial just to take the edge off him. Mike had a lot of grit and he put that in his pups as well. Too bad the UBGF boys don't still breed for the kind of hound Mike was.
Once upon a time, a man asked a girl " Will you marry me?" The girl said " NO." and the guy lived happily ever after and ran his dogs as much as he wanted to.
