the beast way to get pedigree info is go to akc and order an online reasearch ped wich is just $10 and then print it off and keep it for your records
I believe it is $12 for the
5 generations and I have another possibility to suggest to everyone.
First check to see if the hound is already listed in the
http://www.beaglepedigree.com database, as you only need to be a member to view it. Sign up for an instant account if you need one. If it is not already listed ask on the beagle message boards to see if someone can supply the information. If after a few days no one can supply the information go to the "PURCHASE A $5 FOUR GENERATION PEDIGREE" page at the website previously mentioned and complete the form. The pedigree will be researched (1-2 days) and a message will be sent via email once completed. Next make the payment via a secure
PayPal link and the pedigree will be emailed in a format, unlike the AKC's multiple page version, that prints on one sheet of 8.5 X 11 paper (see above example) . As a bonus if the fifth generation is completed from information already in the database, the 5 generation pedigree will be substituted in place of the 4 generation.
Besides the cost savings to the individual, there are several other advantages.
1) The information will be added to the database so now everyone with an account can benefit with the availability to view it 24/7.
2) If the database has more generations of ancestors behind the requested hound they are automatically connected and you can trace the pedigree back farther on the website for
no additional cost.
Often you may be able to go back 5-10 generations.
3) If there are siblings to the hound or any ancestor in the database you will also be able to display that information.
4) The pedigree Guru, who we all know but shall remain nameless
will finally receive a "benefit" for all the time he spends researching information for everyone.
I believe this to be a true Win, Win situation .
