hi
i was needing info on northway dogs.
i am interested in their traits,habits running style,speed?
nortway spur in paticular?
i have 2 females heavy in this breeding,i am starting to like a lot.
please post likes and dislikes.

Lynn Perkins probably has some of if not the best Northway bloodline in this area bar none .

I have two heavy Northway bred females. They both are tough as nails. Their noses and ears are more torn up at the end of a hunting trip. Their running style is fast and furious. I would call them gamblers on checks. They both tend to hunt a check wide and quick. Both of my females are 14" or less but run like they are 16". They are not perfect on bad scenting days but they can make some dogs look bad when the scenting is good. One female I call Birdie absolutely hates a rabbit if she catches one or gets to it quicker than you it will not make it to the stew pot.

Ask Lynn Perkins. He probably knows just as much as Paul Komorny that has the Northway kennel in New York. Lynn is a good honest guy and seems to have a great deal of pastion for this sport.

Our kennel runs alot of northway blood... I can tell ya all I know ( which is not alot ) Just shoot me a pm...
Lynn has knowledge that I have milked from him everytime I see him! Also check out those who ran with voodoo and the hounds from him...
Buzz that Lynn owns shows what Northway adds alot of... gritt and BOTTOM!!! Love that go go go go go go go ....
He don't do to bad for an old man ( buzz that is not Lynn )

Most of the Nortway Dogs I have seen are Linebred Reffett dogs. They hunt good, usually have chop mouths, and most of the linebred stuff works a check from the inside out.

Dexter Reffett would be a great source of info since he has linebred northway dogs for over 20 years....

YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED I AM SELLING ALL MY FEMALES BUT TWO,THE TWO I AM KEPPING,ONE IS ALL NORTHWAY AND THE OTHER IS PRIME TIME NORTHWAY,THE REASON FOR THE NORTHWAY BLOOD IS YA CAN'T GO WRONG WITH IT.
NORTHWAY = EXTREME HARD HUNT AND DESIRE,ALL AROUNG GOOD DOGS.
