Rising Sun's Kennel is in Middletown, Ohio and is owned by my good friend Paul Webb. If you look him up be sure to give him a howdy from his New York Hillbilly buddy, as he calls me. Or sometimes with his southern drawl....Maahhhhkk (Mike) . He is a good guy and a staright shooter....if you don't want to know....don't ask cause he'll tell you.

Pork Chop,
Yes....513-423-4578......He screens his call as you will find out, from telemarketers and the like. Paul is real character and a real knowledgeable houndsman as you will also find out. Good luck in whatever your looking for.....if it's a good hound... you will find it there for sure!
Peace,
NYH

Pork Chop,
Paul has a thing for fast and furious! But they are also good check hounds. While not every litter and every pup from any litter anyplace turns into a field champion, Rising Sun pups do so enough for people to take notice. I sure did! That's why my pack is almost entirely line bred Rising Sun. I have been impressed with the brains, desire and hunt in these hounds and will continue to breed as my needs dictate Rising Sun with a rare outcross if it is really something special. The hounds tend to be running around 14" from what I have seen although he does get some that leave 15" in the dust as one of the males I have that is a solid 17". This hound is heading to a friend of mines cause to big for my liking and he will be a good addition to his pack of long legged hare hounds. Speed on a scale is tough to say but mine I would say are usually 7-8 on a normal run 8-9 if the track is hot or they are with faster hounds. Where they really excell though is in the check work. They will out check most hounds I have run with or against. The hounds also do well on the bench because he breeds for good confirmation....straight running gear..nice heads....they look like beagles and not like some of the pointy nosed short ears out there. His hounds are almost all red and white or some variation there of. Hope this has be of some help.

Nate,
Yup on the big male. I'll try to call you today. The house has been a zoo with the kids being off for spring break and with the family hanging about cause of the holiday. If it gets quiet I'll call.
Happy Easter,

Mike,

I've been trying to call you for a week now. All I get is the answering machine. Oh yeah, I left a message. What's the best time to call you? I may want that big dog.
