Was just wondering how everyones sy pups have turned out I've heard a lot of good things on them considering he breed a short time, I'm not on here to brag or anything but I've got a female by the name of Rocky Ridge Method To Mayhem that won the UKC Black Gold Challenge series as a junior female this past year and I'm really happy with the way she's turned out.

I had a female directly out of Syris and Mr. Stubs Maple Hill Chief bitch. She was about 2 1/2 yrs. old and the best dog I had. I say had, b/c she was hit by a car and killed last week. I do have two good looking pups out of her that I hope will one day replace her.
Good luck w/ your hound....she sounds like a good one.

I have two Sy females, one from the same litter as Briarhopper and the other from the same litter his two pups come out of. I would say they have some of the best traits you could ask for. Always busy, great line control, great noses, lots of brains. I bought a pup off of Briarhopper last August and at 5 1/2 months old she could run a rabbit. I shot three rabbits this season and all three off that pup. The older female is 2 1/2 yrs old and she was not started until she was 14 or 15 months old. Within 30 days she could run the front and out work older dogs. Not just my dogs but other peoples dogs as well. If I don't run her, my buddies won't go running. If I ever breed her it will be to FC Buddy's Iron Eagle. I called Rick and that is who he recommended. Katie the 2 1/2 will be ran in her field trial this Sat and I can't wait to she the results. Regardless, I will be happy to own her.

That sounds great beaglhandler, that's what I like to hear I'm sure not everyones have turned out good but the few that I've seen in ukc have been well above average. I assume you talked to Rick Giermata about breeding, I talked to him for the first time on sunday about breeding another female of mine to one of his stud dogs out of sy, He invited me to come up and watch them run. He's really happy with them and how there producing also. Beaglehandler what is the breeding on your females.

I have a female Syris x Singletons Tango(sock it to me). I am her third owner. KY Beagles Socks Mcgee. Socks was bred by accident before she was a year old. Kim Newman owned her after that and hunted her hard for a season. She is black and tan with white feet about 14 3/4" tall.
I bought her in June 05 and ran her solo or with one or two young hounds last summer. Socks has blossomed into a nice hound that does not open early, she has been trash free and the tell on dog that I desprately needed. I have entered her in three little pack trials. She won the third trial on a tough scenting day with a jump and two checks in the winners pack late in the hour. Her style is smooth close check work not wild at all. Not the fastest in tough cover but can turn it on when the rabbit hits the open. Socks ran one swamp rabbit down this year from behind when he decided to hit an opening in a thicket. She is a solid hound that has a home here in NC for life.

Does anyone have an outstanding stud directly from Sy??
I have seen and heard alot of good things about this male and would possibly like a pup as close to him as possible, maybe even a double bred cross.

Hy Union,
There is a fellow here in middle TN that has a big male directly out of Syris. He calls him Major McGee. The guy goes by Plateaubeagler on here. I've not seen the dog go, but I'm sure he'd be glad to tell you about him.
Also, I recently had a double bred Syris litter. The pups are 8 mo. old and showing great promise. I kept a male and a female out of the litter. The male is a big, good looking tri-color. He will make a full 15". Time will tell if he will make a good stud dog. His name is Briarhoppers Otis McGee.
Here is his pedigree, I'll try and post a pic. of him. I also own his sire Timber.
----------FC Smokes Creek Syris McGee
-----FC Rheaume's Blue Syris
----------Rheaume's Silvertone Shadow
KY Beagles Timber Rattler
----------FTC Mikermas Super Dog
-----Hardtimes WKK Total Chaos
----------Branko's Holly Bend Hooter
----------IFC Branko's Big Sam
-----FC Smokes Creek Syris McGee
----------Zak's Hanover Kendra
Syris' Maple Hills Scout
----------FC Mr Stub's Maple Hill Chief
-----Dorroh's JT Rebel Pearl
----------Branko's Dandy Candy

HY Union,
I would love to make this cross again, but unfortunately my Syris female, Scout was hit by a car and killed just a couple weeks ago. She will be missed. Even w/ this set back, I will continue w/ the Syris blood.
I don't know where you are located, but there is a fellow, I believe his name is TomPA on here that has a bunch of Syris blood. He is from PA. He recently bred a Syris male back to a female out of Woofman - or some cross like that.
Best of luck to you - let me know if I can help any further.

Briarhoppers Otis McGee
His grandsires are Syris McGee and Blue Syris. He is about 7 1/2 mo. old in the pics. Still alot of puppy look to him....and not the best pic. But, he is off to a good start.

mayhem78,
The female littermate that I have is marked up different. She looks more like Super Dog, who is one her great-grand sire....a lot more white. She was the only one in the litter to look that way. The rest of them looked very similar to Otis.
Beaglerhandler, on this board, has the only other female pup out of that litter and she looks very similar to Otis.
