snowshoe hare hunting?

Me and my brother in laws are looking for a place to go snowshoe hare hunting. We were hoping to find a place in Michigan, could anyone give me some advice on where to go? Someone told me about Drummond Island but I don't know anything about it or how to set up a hunt there. Is it public hunting or private and who do I need to contact if it is private hunting? I would be open to other places too, I have never hunted snowshoes and always have wanted to. I have my own dogs. Thanks Jamey
