How soon do they start and how fast are these dogs?

How soon a pup starts has nothing to do with bloodline. I purchase pups from a line that all their pups start from 3-5 months old. Most of my pups don't start until they are 8 months old, but all my pups are more started than the one I purchased. With the amount of time that I spend with pups, I think all pups that start at 8 months old are early starter. I think all my pups that started at 8 months old could have been started at 4-5 months old if I have a training pen and time.

Thx man. Right now I’m looking for the stud dog I want to bread my female to next year. And I am really looking at Rebel. I have a 13" right out of Nightrain and Sundown Toni which goes back to Ace in the Hole. I'm just trying to see if their running style and speed is about the same.

I will give ya a call after Labor Day.

Thanks

~Fred

Channelkat, are you going to the UKC world hunt in Millersburg Ohio on Oct 1? I will have one of Rebels Sons there HBCH Boldstokes Rileys A Rebel. We run in the morning round. Come on out and watch the cast. Riley started at 5months. He is med speed with a real good nose and and real good line control. Riley isnt the fastest dog out there sometimes hes in the lead sometimes hes fourth, bit if a dog makes a mistake he will clean it up. Hes solid in all areas.

Now you know that I will run with you guys any time. But I don't know if those dogs of yours can handle this big country. Just finished a 2 yr. old female out of George into HBCH. Now I'm working on a 1yr. old pup. I also have a 8 mo. of my buddies here and he's starting to show the old dogs how to do it. I have a real project coming up. a female thats timid & shy, because she was never handled. I put her on the long line last night and we went for a walk. She will come to me now and walks beside me. A little more time and loving care and then maybe some traning pen time, I might push a button. I love it when I'm retired. See you at the world or when you get the chance to come run.

Jason, this is just another challenge for me. She walks on long line beside me now. I gave the hard tug last night and she decided that come means he wants me. If I can get her to take a treat I know I will have her beat.
