Crain Bloodline.....

Post by Koontzy »

I have searched and not really found alot of info on the crain dogs or Merle Crain, all I really saw was how he stiffed a guy, or just ickering... does Mr. Crain still breed this line? if so how can i contact him and what are the dogs like?? characteristics?

Thanks

He has an add in the Rabbit Hunter Magazine. He still breeds and sells dogs, but I don't think he has his old line anymore.. I am in Maryland and there are 2 guys here he sold some trashy dogs to years back and would'nt return their money and they were not what he told them they were so take this with a grain of salt if dealing with him..Like anytime you buy a hound go LOOK at it BEFORE you buy it...

Nate Johnson in VA has some of the old Crain blood in his kennel. He goes by BJK on the board. The old crain blood used to be tough back in the day, I can't say anything about the new blood as I have never dealt with Merle but have seen him at trials.

Many years ago i bought a Booger Red pup and a Dusty pup out of his kennel. Can say much about the Booger Red but I think if i had shock collars back then that Dusty pup would have been better than average. I really liked her.

The old lines are priceless, these are the dogs that made him. The new stuff, well, I wouldn't own one. They're not the same. Not dogging Merle but I'm just being honest.
